The Championship gets better crowds than Serie A

Last season's figures showed The Championship gets bigger attendances than Serie A.  I didn't check the stats but accept the media reports.  Whether they were counting that The Championship has an extra 4 teams I don't know, but it does show at least, that despite being relegated Fulham are still in the "big time".

Only The Premier League, Bundeslege and Spanish League had larger attendances.

Still believe

If that's true I'd expect it to have more to do with the new fan identity card system, trouble at games & current political/economic climate.  Let's not kid ourselves, games in the Championship are not as good as Serie A.

Sadly, this is simply not true, as this link demonstrates.....

An average crowd of 16k+ is still decent, but is less than Italy, French and Dutch top divisions.

And Germany.

And Spain.

And the Premier League.

Of course it's not true. But if you don't "check the stats but accept the media reports" it doesn't really matter, does it!   :Happy New Year 2:

The weather forecast I listened to this morning promised dry weather all day. Naturally I didn't see the need to check this by looking out of the window. I was halfway to work when I realised I was soaking wet. Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

I'm always surprised to see attendance statistics for SerieA. Every time I see highlights, 75% of the seats are empty. I'm wondering if attendance is based on tickets purchased rather than people through the turnstiles.

Here are the details which I had no time to research.  http://www.thesportreview.com/tsr/2010/05/english-championship-crowds-above-serie-a-and-ligue-1/.  You may find other sources.

Appears to be overall attendances rather than mean average.  As for JBH's abuse, it has been reported and I hope you get 'sorted' out by the mods!!
