So much negative emotion running through this place... here is a lovely goal for people that still enjoy football no matter what level.

Just score 3+ goals a game and we will gain promotion...I promise

RidgeRider

very nice goal......the control by the forward to put the ball in a place for Johnson to volley it in was as excellent as well.

YankeeJim

The goal was nice but that assist was world class.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

God The Mechanic

Been frequently impressed by the Timbers over the last season and a bit, though they seemed to struggle early on this year.

DutchCottager

Will Johnson used to play for my local club, really underrated player. Class goal.

MisfitKid

Pierazzi's was better, but I am biased...   :033:
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most...

...former Fulham player and proper legend, Jimmy Conway played for Portland Timbers as well as twice being assistant coach. He still lives in the area but is sadly suffering from a form of dementia these days. From the fans of Jimmy Conway facebook page they have organised many events to fund raise to end alzheimers, here is the latest plea for support:-

Dear Friends of Jimmy Conway:

Once again we will be forming a team to participate in the annual 'Walk to End Alzheimer's' event to show our respect and support for Jimmy Conway.

This year's walk will take place on Sunday, September 7th at Portland International Raceway at 2:00 pm. Unfortunately, this year's walk will occur at the same time as the Timbers match that day. The conflict in schedules was unavoidable. We encourage all Timbers fans who are counting on attending the match that day to do so, as that's what Jimmy would want.

We ask those of you not attending the Timbers match that day to register and join our team 'Friends of Jimmy Conway' at the Walk to End Alzheimer's. We have provided a link (below) where you will have the option of: joining and/or donating to our team. Here's the link:

http://act.alz.org/goto/FriendsofJimmyConway

This page also enables those who are not able to attend the event to make a donation to our team. Your gift is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Note: Many companies provide a 'Matching Gift' to employees for donations they make to charity. Please take a moment and visit this page to see if your company is one of them:

http://www.matchinggifts.com/walk

This is a great way for us to maximize donations and provide even greater support for the Alzheimer's Association.

I will post periodic updates on this Facebook page, and will use the Alzheimer's Association communication tools to provide those who register to walk with the necessary information for the event.

We certainly hope that with the generosity everyone has shown in the past we can show our support for Jimmy and Noeleen while providing the Alzheimer's Association with a sizeable donation in Jimmy's name.

Best wishes
