Normally go at the end of January, mainly due to work commitments, time off etc. For the past 2 years, I've done Egypt, first the Nile Cruise, then Sharm el Sheik, throughly enjoyed both, although Sharm was a to commercialised for me, I was happier knocking around the Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple etc.

I'm tempted to go back and do the Nile Cruise again, mainly to do the Pyramids at Giza and Abu Simbel, couldn't do them last time as it was kicking off, but at the same time, I don't want to bore the Mrs.

Considering that time of year, where else is quite good to go? The weather is still around 25 degrees in that part of the world, but I'm stuck or idea's. P.S: Barbados etc, is out of the question.

Me-ate-Live, innit??

Dust off your dancing shoes and go to Cuba ----------------------- very nice in January

Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

In all seriousness, San Francisco is one of my absolute favourite cities. The missus would love the romance of it. Plus you've got Alcatraz for a bit of masculinity.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most...

Only if you live there. Otherwise it goes by the old native American name of "that of the over priced real estate".
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

Not very nice in January and the weather is hit or miss all year round.
Lots of 'romance'  Alcatraz (not a nice boat trip in January)  Fishermans Wharf, Beach (too cold) Cable cars, Haight Ashbury ( from the old hippy/Woodstock era) Carmel (Clint Eastwood was mayor)
I'd combine it with a trip to LA; Greyhound through Bakersfield etc

I haven't been there since 1974, my only connection there is an old friend of mine: Rick Jones,  who for the older members was 'Mr' Fingerbobs, Play School and the co-writer and keyboard player of 70's 'cult' band  Meal Ticket
VERY DAFT AND A LOT DAFTER THAN I SEEM, SOMETIMES

Cambodia. Went there a couple of years ago and the people are very friendly.

Borneo or Costa Rica. Both fabulous destinations. Both brilliant for a week of touring followed by relaxing on a beach.

W Indies, Cuba as above, Mauritius, Seychelles, Gambia.  (I assume skiing not on your agenda?)  South America?  Anywhere but Warrington really.
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

Dunno. The Arndale centre in Warrington is pretty nifty. Is that fancy bus garage still there?

The Equalizer

"We won't look back on this season with regret, but with pride. Because we won what many teams fail to win in a lifetime – an unprecedented degree of respect and support that saw British football fans unite and cheer on Fulham with heart." Mohammed Al Fayed, May 2010

A bit closer to home, Madeira is always worth a visit, as is Gozo. Both lovely. For more guaranteed weather one of the Canaries would be good, especially out of season.

The Rock

In the US, all the festival goers/Jam band lovers do this and I wish I could go but Jan is not a good time for me. Excellent bands and a very fun crowd am sure. An excellent funk band from Leeds called the New Mastersounds usually plays this and would check them out for some good music.
