Millwall Fans

Yesterday I heard from a Millwall fan at work that they were booking seats in the neutral end (expected) but this morning I have been told from a Millwall supporting mate that many other fans are booking Home end seats as well as there are apparently no security measures. Being in the Championship is going to be completely different in terms of support to the Premier league years, in so much as there will be less people just coming to watch a Premier league game and more people coming to support their actual team, and I think the club needs to bring in some new measures (say goodbye to the 'neutral' section) to ensure a bit more safety to fans during games. I'm not saying all Millwall fans go for a fight, that would be unfair and wrong, but during a game tempers flair and if opposite fans are together (of any team) then a good mix it does not make.

I may ping an email over to the Club to notify them of this as well, but thought I would let anyone know who already has a ticket to the game what they may encounter.

The club should be fully aware that Millwall fans may try to buy tickets in the home end. It won't help if fellow Fulham fans aid them, but it'll happen. The Club should take extra steps to check those fans who are purchasing tickets on a general public basis, but I doubt they will, they never do.

What's the point of them going in the home ends? They've got 6000+ seats in the Putney end to be going at. It sounds like scaremongering to me, and if not then it's nothing we're not used to after Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool etc for the past 13 years.

Fulham 442

I am  planning on going to a few more games this season.  This is one I will be missing as my memories of Millwall fans at the Cottage are not good ones! Why would they bother with the home end when they can have the whole of the Putney End?  To cause trouble - which wouldn't surprise me!

Sounds like bollocks to me, pretty sure tickets in the home areas haven't even gone on general sale, at the least you would need to have some sort of booking history to buy in there. I don't think Fulham old bill or the club are naïve enough to have pockets of Millwall fans all over the ground.

just so you know .. but people at the club already know about this and are investigating asap. Millwall fans are creating fake accounts in fulham names and buying tickets in the neutral areas and any others where they can mass buy . But some millwall fans have been abit stupid and discussed it in full view of the social media world .

Sorry, please explain

 - what exactly you mean by "say goodbye to the 'neutral' section"
 - how it would help with the problem with away fans buying tickets in the home end

Also, for those who say the club should do more, can they do anything but only sell tickets in the `home end' to season ticket holders and members? Is that what you want? Does the `home end' include the JH and Riverside stands?

Just asking for clarification.

What I mean is that there is no need for the neutral section, it will often just get bought up by away fans. Make it home or away, as there will be less 'neutral' fans this season. Apologies, I didn't put "such as" before I wrote that, I think that is just one measure as of course that doesn't stop people buying in the home end.
There will always be away fans in home sections, like you say, it's hard to make it exclusive. However with the fact that it will happen where a large group will buy tickets, I think the club should be aware. As has been said by someone else, they are aware, just seeing it discussed lead me to let other people know. No scaremongering, just relaying info supplied by a friend to fellow fans.

Clearly if groups of Millwall (or other away) fans are buying up blocks in anywhere other than the away section then it is an issue and it is good the hear that the club know and are doing something about it.

About the neutral section then the obvious thing to do is to make it the away end.

I don't see how it can become a home end. The away fans would still have to be accommodated. Where would they go? The JH? The Riverside? The Hammersmith End?

Or do those who are suggesting it just mean that the river side of the Putney End would be called the Away End while the Cottage side would be called a home end so that it is just a name change? How does that help?

N_O_W_S

As a member I can only buy one ticket. SO if Millway fans are willing to pay £30 on top of the ticket price they are welcome to to then be ushered away by the stewards.

If they integrate into the home end on the sly then fine but otherwise it will get cracked down.

With special measures on ticket purchases anyway I would be surprised by this.

Oh no! It's the invasion of the Millwall fans!!

Local residents can expect plant pots to be knocked over and doorbells to be rang with the assailant then fleeing the scene. It'll be carnage

That's actually quiet far away from the actual truth. Even though Millwall fans are not as bad as they used to be, they still have the potential to smash up Craven Cottage, our pubs, and it was only a little while ago, a West Ham fan was stabbed in the chest before their cup game.

Blanco

It's easy for me to say because I can't go anyway but I hope not too many fans are put off going to this game because it's Millwall. Would be great if most could make it to the game.

Scrumpy

They love their 'hard man' image don't they? And I bet they do all that they can online to perpetuate the image.

As others have said, it will mostly be bollox. If you want trouble against Millwall, then you'll find it. But if you're sensible, then all will be fine. There will be coppers everywhere that day, and I predict a nice easy win for The Whites.
English by birth, Fulham by the grace of God.

Millwall is actually our highest ever home attendance. 50 000 back in 1938.

JHaynes Paperboy

Millwall fans are not all morons but most of them are!
I know of some fans who go to away games because they are banned from the Den, with a bit of luck they will all start fighting each other like they did at Wembley.

Kentish Gent

One of the reasons I love Fulham (and have done for more than 50 years) is that it is civilised, and we should be proud of the fact that our club was the first (and only?) club to have a neutral section. I've sat there in previous years with mates who support Newcastle, Bolton and Liverpool, and never had any problems. We should also give great credit to Millwall for the efforts they've made in recent years to clean up their act. Stick to your principles Fulham, and keep the neutral section.

Two Ton Ted

I remember when we played Southampton at the Dell in both cups a few years back they had a neutral section, so I don't actually think we were the first, just maybe the first to publicise it.
Never ever bloody anything ever.

SouthfieldWhite

Like others have said, stop scare mongering, if Millwall were that bad, they'd be banned every game they play.

Just they have their idiots, but then so do most clubs.

People who are saying( men over 21 ) they ain't going cause its Millwall, need to grow a pair

The club are not silly enough to give tickets in the home end to people without a booking history for this game.

Anyone that chooses to sit in the Putney end for these sort of games, well that's up to you.

I've got Millwall mates and I come across a lot on building sites where I work.
Most of it is all front with them and they like to play up to this hard club image.

It don't wash with me and I certainly wouldn't go just cause its Millwall.
