Is Stockdale off to Brighton?

It makes no sense to sell a starter for such a pittance. He would have to be replaced and what could we get for a million? Nothing as good to be sure. Stek just doesn't have it. How he managed to be starting keeper for Holland says more about the lack of quality Dutch keepers than it says about his talent. Maybe that's why everyone scores in double figures over there.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

The Dutch league isn't that bad, I've watched it a lot in the last 3 years,I have been in Belgium. Been to over 30 games in that time and watched a lot on tv too. It's bottom end of prem / top of championship level. There are a coup,e of teams that meh make the bottom end of mid table.

As for stek, the stek of Ajax would have been great for us, sadly his confidence took a massive knock at Roma and we never got the best of him. Although he did make a couple of good saves before getting injured on debut, and made some super stops in other games, sadly made some costly blunders too, but that's the confide vice just not being there like it was a few seasons back.
Every day is a Fulham day

Seems needless to get rid of Stockdale.

Presumably Magath thinks we can and should do better and Stockdale realises if he's not going to be number 1 now he never will be.  I would rather he left for game time than stayed here on the bench I think, he deserves it.

Young English goalkeepers are like gold dust & should be valued as such. The fee being put about is an insult. He still has a lot to learn & will get better & better. I want him to do this with us.

I wouldn't be so gutted if it were a Premiership club coming in for him. It seems such a small fee for a great keeper.

To be honest he should be ontop of his game at present he wont get better and better at his age and wont learn too much more.He has ever only filled in and never been first choice, loyal yes,but try not to get carried away.Look what we got stek for and he was an international world cup keeper, puts it in perspective.

I agree 100% it makes me laugh when people still refer to Stockdale as a youngster, he is what he is, he certainly won't get any better now, he's painfully shy for a keeper, he certainly doesn't command his area or his back four, which any top keeper has done in the past, his agility has always been an issue especially when a shot is low down, this isn't helped by his frame, he's always carried a bit of timber, and his distribution is awful especially when the ball is kicked along the ground to him to kick up field , 3 times against Palace he shanked the ball straight in to Block T of The Riverside stand,
All the managers at Fulham have had issues with him and they see far more of him than we do, either his agent or Fulham have let it be known that "England's Number 1" (As the Hammersmith End refer to him ) is possibly available and yet no top flight club have come in for him and only Brighton from our league, which tells you all you need to know,
If we signed Alex McCarthy from Reading, the Stockdale mourning on here would be over in 90 mins.

If we're selling Stockdale I can only assume one of the following;

We've got a better, quality keeper coming in

Or

Stekelenburg is staying, and has the nod over Stockdale.

As Felix preferred Stockdale over Steck, I can't see that he has changed his opinion over the summer so either Stockdale is staying or we have another keeper coming in

Stek may have sorted out whatever mental/physical problems he had, but I think we could be bringing a new keeper in -if so, must already be identified and expected to sign.

Well, if he has, he is certainly not endangering his newly found mental/physical well-being by playing in any football matches, or even, if photographic evidence is anything to go by, taking part in any squad training sessions.

Been yelled at for months for saying Stockdale is the epitome of average. Maybe Felix thinks so, too. Or maybe this was a weird gambit by Stockdale's agent that's backfiring. Who knows. Weird time to be shuffling the deck on keepers. Hard to believe Stek wants to stay, but maybe no one wants him, either, and our hand is forced.

David Stockdale will leave Fulham this summer, as will Maarten Stekelenburg, leaving Fulham short of senior goalkeepers.

Brighton have made an offer for Stockdale, however he will cost more than the rumoured £1m.

????!!!!????!!!!

Where's this from??

Pluto

Will be very disappointed if he leaves. Would certainly want someone better than Bogdan as a replacement, but would probably try to keep Stek in all honesty. We're hardly likely to attract much better as a championship club.
