Really worried that we are going to get trounced by DCU.... they are very in form having only lost 1 match since May 31st...

They have at least 6 or 7 players that could easily be in our squad right now (Johnson, Silva, Rolfe, Kitchen, Arnaud, Franklin and Hamid) and they play very physical in the midfield...
Its a pre-season warm up friendly for God's sake the resultbis meaningless as is this trip

Forever Fulham

whats going on? how is it not prioritated to get our starting 11 match fit???

Artful Dodger

I certainly believe that tonight will set the tone for other MLS clubs... If Sporting KC and LA put out strong first half squads against Citeh and Manure... I would expect that DCU will follow suit.... I also expect Eddie to be chomping at the bit to score against us.

Unless we put a stationary cow in goal and Eddie Johnson has a very large banjo, from what I saw, we have little to worry about. Ok, so that probably guarantees he scores against us........ :dead horse:

Stockdale may be a nice lad but Hull didnt sign him for a reasons that are clear to see
Didn't they want to sign him but we wouldn't sell?
correct
I thought they didn't want to pay the price we were asking for
Every day is a Fulham day

It's only a squad if 16 players from what I read, is that right?
Every day is a Fulham day

God The Mechanic

It's a four day excursion for a single game the other side of the world to where the rest of our pre-season is going to take place.  It was hardly gonna be the strongest squad we have available.

Sounds right.  The point (as I see it) is that they did want to sign him.  I suppose the devil is in the details; were we looking for a nominal fee and they didn't even want to pay that, or were we asking a "don't want to sell to a relegation rival" king's ransom?

ChesterTheTabby

Regardless of not being able to see some of the big name's we wish we could see - I am excited to watch the defensive players and Eisfeld.
Someone once asked me, "Why Fulham?".
My response, "Well, lad, you just haven't seen the light yet"

Deanothefulhamfan

I know we are missing some starting players, but I would be very surprised if we got hammered.

I think our back line is all there, and it gives us a chance to see a midfield without Parker... with players like David, Hyndman and Eisfield we are going to have a lot of the ball. We will probably play the best football for some time in all fairness.

rweller86

It's likely there will be trialists in the squad too

Doesnt really matter in this day and age, does it? Siggurdson signed for Swansea while Spuds were in the States,  he was even slated to start last evening, but was withdrawn.
Self proclaimed tactical genius, football manager approved.

Is he?  There was the article that Malaga might be interested in him, but I don't feel like we've seen anything particularly definitive.

Captain Fulhamerica

My best guess for the starting XI

----------------Joronen--------------

---Voser--Burgess--Hutch--Stafyl---

----------------Hoogland--------------

Roberts--Eisfeld--Hyndman--R Williams

---------------Dembele--------------

Amorebieta will be there because he's been injured recently, probably needs extra match minutes. Those not there from the first team are in Austria at a fitness camp, and will play friendlies there as well.

YankeeJim

Perhaps Felix feels sorry for MLS since they managed to lose 4 games yesterday by a combined 16-4 to the EPL.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

Ben Olsen said DC will likely be playing a few starters and mostly reserves, so despite being in season it'll be a fair match.

MLS teams used to play their starting XIs and take these games seriously, but now seem less incentivized to do so.  The recent scorelines show it.
