Just watched Sunderland on the TV

Last season they were rank along with us. Their managerial change worked a treat, and comparing their squad now to ours shows how much of a free fall we have gone through in 2 seasons.

They have Brown and OShea at the back (arguably similar to our Hughes and Hangeland 2 seasons ago). They have Cattermole, Rodwell and Larssen like we used to have the likes of Murphy, Dembele and Zamora.

How did we get here..... We've shed quality at every turn and not replaced it.

Felix is just another step down the path we seem to be committed to. Sunderland are no great shakes, but theres a gulf between us and them now.

It does seem that we swing from one extreme to the other. Sustainability is the word. So we sign short term old men. Youth is the word. So we just fling in as many kids as we can.

We all expected Project Fulham to take time. But we also expected the kids to have some experience playing around them. But after the last two games we look confused and frankly way out of our depth. The basics are there but we are in danger if destroying the project before it has had a chance to work.

Bring a manager who can train and coach and four or so players with Championship experience.

Then we could see the birth of a great future. Right now we are drowning at birth.

Comparison between us and others is we have not looked as if we knew what we were doing since Mark Hughes walked.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

just had a terrible thought. imagine we stayed up but with our current squad. we would have let in at least 200 goals over the season. mind you we could still reach that number in championship the way things are going.

This hasn't just happened over night, this has been coming every since the Europa League final, where we should have invested correctly. Roy somehow managed to get the best out of an average squad, if anything, we punched well above our weight under his management. Fayed had practically stopped investing, and from there, the rest is just history. Kahn bought to late, made a big mistake by not invest straight away, has made another mistake in allowing that fruitcake of a German to have his way with the squad.
