USA holds on to win 1-0 despite some heavy pressure from the Czechs in the second half.  Hyndman looked good and also broke up a couple of dangerous Czech breaks that were started by other US players being sloppy.

Emerson looked composed.  Few nice touches under pressure, sprung one attack (which Brek Shea ruined with an awful touch like always).  Did have one bad giveaway but got back and slid to win it back.  Nice debut.

For a little guy he's hard to upend. He must be incredibly strong. I'm afraid to say anything nice about him further than that, though. It was a good debut for him.

And to think we were watching him, George, pat, Moussa, Cameron, Liam, Solomon and Jordan display their talents for free less than 6 months ago down at Motspur. Well done Emerson, I'm sure he can't believe just how fast everything has come but he is a very focused young man, he won't let this early success and praise distract him from working on his game and building his career. He exhibits a high level of self control of his emotions on and around the football pitch which is why I will always have an enduring memory of his celebration after his Goal in the youth cup final, normally just turns away head down walking back to his own half, but he really got lost in that moment. You can't not like this kid, even our most anti yank brigade will fall in love with him.
