He may be more or less done now, but genius ages slower than anything else in football. My favourite non-Fulham player of the last decade, Andrea Pirlo wins the Turin derby with a 20 yarder last kick of the match.

He's a footballing genius, playing on fumes and vapors in advanced age.   Maybe one of the five best distributors of the ball that I've ever seen.

Yep. Right up there with Haynes, Gerson, Suarez (non-biting one), Gianni Rivera, Laudrup, Xavi. Nobody in the recent English game comes close, maybe Becks.

I've always though Zico to be the best free-kick man I ever saw, but Pirlo runs him close.

Isn't it interesting that Pirlo and Totti are the 2 players in Serie A that draw my attention the most.  Stylish and ageless.  Pirlo seems to be fading a bit more than Totti, but I hope they both can contribute to their clubs for another year or two.

He is unbelievable...... I think he is possibly the best set piece taker in the world, and still possesses one of the best range of passing you will see in a modern day footballer.
