A number of posts have discussed the apparent lack of ambition shown by FFC in the recent transfer window and also the effects of 'Financial Fair Play.' I came across an interesting article on the finances and challenges faced by a Div 2 club (Luton) who started their descent just as the Premiership started. It does put FFC's 'problems and challenges' into a sobering context.

How bleak those images are......I remember seeing a tv film years ago about Brentford in the old 4th division. It chronicled a day in which they had to travel to Barrow for a midweek league game. An early start, sandwiches on the ramshackle coach, a 5-0 win away....and the celebration was a fish supper on the coach on the way home... and back in time to see the morning rush hour in West London... Glamorous eh?
