Rude Awakening: Khan 100% Responsible

Its good to see the debate on here.

Wayne, I can see your points being made, as well as MJG's. You are quite correct in your conclusion that, especially taking in FFP rules, nobody seems to fully understand the financial position the club is in when it comes to what we might be able to spend in any given transfer window, and that is a big cause for concern.

It was so easy in the past when we could point fingers at MaF for investment, at Cookie for the poor team selections and praise Roy for his seemingly invincible Thames Barrier.

Like LB and so many others, I despair at what is happening with the club, its not unlike a partner that is going through a serious illness, you just go numb, nothing you can do, but your love stays firm and you just keep hoping for the better. You want to shout it from the rooftops, you pray for something to turn it all around but in the end, you just feel helpless.

Fulham has that at this time, something is wrong, we all diagnose something different, we each argue with each other as to the cause, but the one thing we each share is the belief that we will, ultimately come through this, no matter how many seasons it takes.

Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Fair enough MJG.

To be honest LBn11s post re his personal feelings last night speaks for me as well. For the first time in nearly 40 years I am having to drag myself to matches.
I obviously still care enough to read all the forae but I'm feeling really numbed by the debacle of the last 3 to 4 years. It looks like history will repeat itself.

The difference this time is that Khan is getting and no doubt will continue to get an armchair ride from most fans...I mean just look at some of the posts on this thread. Even if you take the view he is merely naive then his regime has been utterly disastrous for this club. Our support needs to find some cojones from somewhere but I'm not holding my breath.

Our club needs a proper Football Chairman, not a long distance one, that is not even a supporter, and a Board that understands English Football. If they were committed and really cared, they would show responsibility and be a little more transparent, the only thing Khan has got right, is removing Michael Jackson Statue,

WM, I seriously don't see Khan going anywhere, or the board itself, and so whatever is in our future, I think that is one thing not likely to change.

I really am not too certain a more hands-on owner is our biggest issue, and after reading all the opinions, I'm not sure, bar the poor performances each week, what is the actual problem really.  :dft001:

I have to agree,  would you prefer a hands on man like big Tony down the road,  the forest chairman who changes everything every six months.
MAF was not that hands on,  he paid other people to run things. He missed a lot of games as well.
It's a red herring when talking about Khan being an absent owner. But there is an argument that the actual management structure that report and run the club could be an issue. I think Rigg is the first person in a number of changes we will see.

When is Rigg due to be at the club in person? I was under the (uninformed) impression that he had already arrived but read on here he is due next month.

I'd advocated a social media campaign on the basis Khan has plans in England and having lived in the US I know how sensitive his type are to bad PR.

But there's no stomach for anything it's a case of hoping against hope, clinging onto every little crumb (PLA news) or frankly giving the fella a free pass.

To be clear I don't think he had sinister intent I think he has no desire to put any money in including funding 8m of FFP losses nor much time. He said he was a custodian I feel he needs to beheld to account on this and specifically give much more attention to his accountabilities. Alternatively sell up (we have no debt) and yes he'd take Id guess a 50% hit but I'd rather have an engaged owner (and there will be buyers at that price as no debt and a london club) than an absentee ingenue who is seeing the club destroyed on his watch.
.
Actually, I suspect that he'd take much more than a 50% haircut from the £175m purchase price (despite being a London club) if, as I think is likely, we drop down into League 1 this season. Ordinarily, Khan would be well advised to recognise his error in buying FFC -- he tried to buy Villa from Randy Lerner -- and to come up with a Plan B that would allow him to exit his failed investment as soon as this season is over (whether or not we stay up will have a big impact on value), but the dilemma Khan has is that he has aspirations in professional sport outside of FFC and the Jacksonville Jaguars and if his short-lived tenure at FRC is viewed as a failure, the likelihood of those aspirations being realised becomes significantly more remote.

Yeah, well he wouldn't let me or SWMBO run our fingers through it when we met him, but it did look a little, how should I say this, er, not dry (and not wet due to the humidity either), but to each his own. If we decided the best chairmen based on their hair, I would have voted for Richard Branson.
