Extremely simplistic terms...

Cast your minds back to the beginning of the season if you will/dare. Things felt new, there was an air of optimism around (and a slight concern that we hadn't done any business of merit, but it was okay, the window hadn't slammed shut by then).

Off we trundled up to Ipswich, and we started to see that perhaps this league wasn't going to be quite as easy as we'd hoped. No matter though, the opposition weren't brilliant and we did improve during the game, even scored late on and threatened to have another goal in us. And the window wasn't shut...perhaps having seen a few games, the manager would realise we weren't ready for the Championship.

Fast forward to yesterday, same opposition, different venue. Cut a long story, same result. Complete with us only scoring after shipping two, and vaguely hinting we could score again.

My point? Dress it up all you like with stats, but stats don't decide the table. There's an argument to be made that we haven't got any better than the first day of the season, under Mad Magath. Okay Ipswich have probably improved, so paralleling two 2-1 games isn't strictly speaking fair. But still...

Bottom line, and none of this is rocket science, we haven't done any real business in bringing in signings/loanees and our current manager, despite being a nicer bloke than the last guy (hard not to be), is as clueless

Make you right there, i really was not impressed with Ipswich or any other team in this division that i have seen this season its just that we are a poor team with very poor or no tactics.
This division was  there for the taking,   but bad decisions at the very top level have caused this disaster. :dead horse:

Growing up is optional

well we are where we are and agree its not a strong league it says more about us as a team and squad and tactically we are not good and if we survive this season can see management changes in the summer with the chairmans twitchy finger pulling the trigger again and kit moving on through our revolving door of managers.

In simple terms we do not have a bad team for this league, not a promotion team but at least comfortable mid table.
It would be a start if we put as much effort in to playing simple, early balls into the oppositions box with some conviction as we do trying to keep the ball and run around in circles which just heaps pressure on our defence when we lose it.

Yesterday, not for the first time both goals came from early balls into our box and pressure applied (the first lead to a corner from which they scored).
Even our goal was the first early ball we played in (albeit poor) which they cocked up and we scored.

Simple, basic footballing ability needed please............... Oh hang on, that might mean playing someone like Smith (short term?) to help win us some games.
But that wont happen because we set out to play a classier style of football and don't need players like that!
