The rumour doing the rounds that Kit Symons will be replaced by Steve Bruce at the end of the season has reared its head this morning.

Although Steve Bruce dismissed any such suggestion speculation has appeared in the Sunday tabloid press that Hull City are said to be making arrangements in case Steve Bruce is tempted to London.

The speculation implies that Hull, if Bruce leaves, are looking at the Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe and Ipswich`s old war-horse Mick McCarthy as possible replacements.

We could be set for an interesting few months!

The way things are at the moment, I would take Robert The Bruce even.

If Hull stay up, why would he want to come down a division?
@MattRhys63 - be warned, there will be a lot of nonsense

Yes keep rearing its head.
Might be in before Summer...

Thank goodness we can't get Tim Sherwood (thank you Villa!).

My view, for what it's worth, is that if we took Bruce from Hull and they got Howe, we would be doing them a double favour.

However the benefit of having someone like Bruce as manager (just about the only one as far as I am concerned) is that he would only come if promised a giant pot of money to spend. And he might get lucky.

He has spent around £42 million of Hull's dough this season. Vital signs: not encouraging.

£11m Hernandez 3 goals from this striker, none since October. Now injured
£6.6m Snodgrass: unluckily injured all season
£6.2m Livermore 1 assist for this midfielder
£4.00m Diame: looked good but is now also injured
£4.00m Dawson
£4.00m N'Doye: recently arrived, might be a decent buy
£4.00m Robertson: 20 y.o LB. Now lost place.
£3.00m Maguire: CB hardly featured
£2.00m Ince: now moved on
additionally was the Ben Arfa loan fiasco.

About £16m was recouped on Shane Long (£13m. might be a good deal for Hull) and Boyd who has been a good but for Burnley.

He might have better luck getting players to come to London rather than Hull (despite our League situation) but I am not sure his transfer or results record justifies his reputation.

But the question is with anybody - what would tempt them to come to Fulham, whether we manage to stay in the Championship or drop another level? If all the screams of board mismanagement are true, then what respected manager would entertain the idea?

Bruce is no spring chicken and been around a few block corners in his time, that means he knows when to pass and when to jump, so why would he come to the Cottage?
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Good post and research, still begs another question then - why would Khan look to get someone on board who spends without results - didn't he have enough of that with Felix (and AM)?

After having been at a seminar today on club finances and talking to the Hull rep I hope he does not come anywhere near us. Would be a disaster on epic proportions.

Bruce Forsyth anyone? I we keep getting relegated there would be an opening for Micky Adams, he's got a proven track record of promotion on a limited budget.

I think there are better alternatives to Bruce, but there are also much worse. Still we shall see

Yeah, but every post-match conference would just be a bunch of "Good Game, Good Game" and him giving cuddly toys to every conveyer belt around the pitch with cuddly toys on it!!  :005:

Good incentive for anyone with two goals to go for the hat-trick. You get nothing for a pair.
