The Championship

The Championship is a hard league to get used to. Most teams that get relegated from the Prem struggle for a season or two and some even longer. We know at our cost what happened last time we dropped from the prem. Even with the great Johnny Haynes Steve Earle Les Barrett and Tony Macedo in Goal we still dropped like a stone. This time although it has been a rough ride we have at least survived a second relegation. So after next weeks game against Norwich we can look forward to a nice summer and watch developments.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the summer.... Will be exciting

when we went down there were loads of people saying iot was the best thing and we could spend time regrouping and winning a few games and be more exciting......

and some of us that knew a bit more said relegation was a disaster and that falure breeds failure and can be very self perpetuating

we have been even worse than last season and the football dire and we have conceded goals like it was going out of fashion....... we have a stay away owner that is clueless and a squad that was decimated by an insane german.... the board that got us in the state we are in remain in place

and with all that i thought the championship very poor, the best teams not that good and with half an ounce of quality in the management we could have walked it.... and can next season but we need a clear message immediately re the manager position... if it's kit say so now and let him really show what he can do... if somebody else, also say so now (or as soon after the norwich game as possible) and give the new man as much time as possible... i hope the replacement is already agreed. any delay will risk our whole season.

Yeah, Norwich have really struggled dropping down a division haven't they...

Norwich kept most of their squad though, Wigan did for the first year and got to the playoffs last year, it's those prem clubs that lose a couple of key players who then fail to get up that struggle in the second year.

I will continue to say given the way the squad was stripped and rebuilt anything more than mid table would have been very good. Should give a core to build on for next year.

and fulham and cardiff haven't... and norwich have not gone up yet and for long periods this season haven't actually looked that wonderful

when we had tigana we built a top class team with three brilliant strikers and a visionary manager, we blew the opposition away we were on the way up..... we are now in decline..... and failure breeds failure... you need a top class management and 'hands on' attention from your leader to remedy and rectify... we have lacked two usual fundamental requirements.
