Women of Algiers  (Picasso)  $160M    World record
This is an absolutely blockbuster picture - it's one of the most exciting pictures that we've seen
on the market for 10 years," said Philip Hoffman, founder and CEO of the Fine Art Fund Group
(Well he would say that wouldn't he)

or

Man Pointing  (Giacometti)    $141    World record

Which do you prefer ?

i have to admit i do not really know either but the prices paid are impressive/ridiculous
It's a painting, no more no less, the fact people can and will spend that much money on a painting is obscene.... and before anybody else says it, footballers transfer fees and wages is also obscene.

i will try and find a link and tell you which I like better.

OK I had a look and confess I do really like both
But for me , if i could only have one, I like the pointing man and would have that one.

I know they are different medium the pointing man really seems to me have something.

Just a quick look and I am no expert.

Mince n Tatties

loft Im holding back for a rainy day...

Woolly Mammoth

I prefer "Man Pointing a Pen" by rogerinvirginia.
Much more topical and the fact that it makes me happy to have another plump guy around.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

grandad

My granddaughter paints better than Picasso did.

Roger, is this another one of your art-bashing threads? Does this football forum really need another??

All you need do is teach her how to spell Picasso and sign her pictures that way and she'd be very wealthy, very quick. Art is like fine wine. Too many pretend to be experts. It's not about the taste, quality or beauty but simply the opportunity to say " last night while viewing my Picasso, I had a bottle of Chateau of Shite 1926. Ain't I cool and better than you?"
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

Neither are my cup of tea. But then I'm not a massive art fan.
Everything is difficult before it's easy!

Jamie88

They are both horrendous to look at imo

OK, in off season I thought perhaps this would be better than another, Ruiz, Mitroglou, Kit out,
Manager suggestions and rumours, Rodellaga, Parker, who we going to sell, who we going to buy etc

I think khan right now would prefere either to his current investment. How can a football club with our history be compared with a painting? These artists although great how can they deserve this much money. 1000 artists could paint the same thing and better. I could earn millions by displaying a bag of rubbish. Just need the right idiot to call it art.
