The former Roma keeper was signed by Fulham in the summer of 2013 from Roma under Martin Jol, however he wasn't overly impressive in his first season, and to get his Premier League wages off the books, he was shifted out on loan to French side Monaco.

After spending the season on loan at Monaco, they decided not to take up their option to sign him permanently, and will return to Fulham shortly.

The 32-year-old's been linked with a move to Southampton, after their number one Fraser Forster picked up an injury which will see him miss the majority of next season.

They're now keen to sign a new goalkeeper for temporary cover as they aren't putting their trust in veteran Kelvin Davis and youngster Paulo Gazzaniga.

Fulham had a very disappointing season this year, and ended up finishing 17th in the Sky Bet Championship table, having amassed 52 points.

Why Fulham lead the way in the England manager stakes



Fulham have produced more England managers than any other club.

A total of three of England's managers managed the Cottagers before taking on the big job, more than any other side.

The late, great Sir Bobby Robson was Fulham's first England manager.

He began his managerial career at the club before making his name at Ipswich and ultimately taking England further in a World Cup than any manager since Sir Alf Ramsey - the semi-finals of Italia '90.

Robson also has the best post-England record of any manager to date, having gone on to win major titles with Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and Porto whilst most former England managers fade into obscurity.

Kevin Keegan was the next former Whites manager to get England's top job.

King Kev had a torrid time in the England hot-seat, crashing out of Euro 2000 before ultimately resigning after the dismal defeat to Germany in the last game at the old Wembley stadium.

Current England boss Roy Hodgson completes Fulham's trio of England managers, one who led the Cottagers to the Europa League final back in 2010.

Behind Fulham in the England manager stakes are five other clubs, all of whom have produced two former England managers.

Roma were previously managed by both Sven Goran-Eriksson and Fabio Capello.

Capello is the only England manager to have won the Champions League as a manager, with AC Milan, and also has the highest win percentage of any manager in the England job to date (67 per cent).

Ipswich produced two of England's most successful managers of all time - Sir Alf Ramsey and Sir Bobby Robson.

Ramsey famously won the World Cup with England in 1966, though was shown the door in 1974 after failing to qualify for the World Cup in Germany.

Aston Villa were the former club of one permanent manager, Graham Taylor, and one caretaker, Joe Mercer.

Mercer was also previously the Manchester City manager, a club that were managed by Stuart Pearce prior to his one game stint as England's caretaker manager following the departure of Fabio Capello.

Leeds United have also had two of their former managers take charge of England.

Howard Wilkinson was briefly England's caretaker following Glenn Hoddle's dismissal, and Don Revie was the full-time manager who replaced Sir Alf Ramsey in 1974.

The England Under-21s has also produced two England managers in the shape of caretakers Peter Taylor and Stuart Pearce.

You do a great job, it is much appreciated. Just one comment, though, is it the uploading process that often separates each sentence into a separate paragraph? It makes it a bit staccatto and hard to read. Not a moan, just a query.

As you are aware, the Dailly Fulham Stuff is a manual process, everything is uploaded by hand. As you can imagine, this is a daily commitment to anyone who has the responsibility. At times, there are situations where people take annual leave, are on holiday, have PC issues, or commitments away from FOF. We've looked implementing News Feeds, but they don't unfortunately deliver the person touch required by FOF.

Played the last season of his career with us in 1955-56. My father remembered this.
