Bolton and Fulham eyeing move 26-year-old midfielder

Bolton Wanderers and Fulham are fighting it out for ex-Rotherham United midfielder Ben Pringle, FLW understands.

FLW understands Ben Pringle is wanted by Fulham and Bolton

The 26-year-old is free agent after deciding to leave Rotherham after four years at the club and is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs including Ipswich Town, Leeds United as well at Bolton and Fulham.

Pringle has been one of the Millers' best performers in recent years and was on the verge of joining Millwall in January, but he turned down the offer to stay in South Yorkshire.

He made 43 appearances for Rotherham last season and helped the New York Stadium outfit successfully avoid relegation back to League One.

Now FLW understands Bolton and Fulham are leading the race for the midfielder's signature. Bolton boss Neil Lennon has been a long-term admirer of the midfielder while Cottagers manager Kit Symons looks to bolster his squad after a disappointing season in the Championship.

Born in Newcastle, Pringle was on the books at West Bromwich Albion as a youngster but was released by the Baggies and had spells in non-league with Newcastle Blue Star, Morpeth Town and Ilkeston Town.

He was snapped up by Derby County in 2009 and made 20 appearances in two years at the Pride Park before joining Rotherham on a free transfer in the summer of 2011.

Pringle made 146 appearances for the Millers, scoring 19 goals.

Fulham considering bid for Rotherham star

Fulham are considering a bid for Rotherham's Ben Pringle.

The left midfielder is out of contract at the end of this month and after rejecting a new deal with the Millers, it looks highly likely that he will be at a new club next season.

Various teams have been linked with a move so far and according to Get West London, Fulham are the latest team to weigh-up a bid for Pringle.

Fulham struggled on the left last season and believe Ben Pringle could be the man to fix the problem and bomb up and down the left channel for the Cottagers next term.

Leeds, Bolton, Ipswich and newly-promoted Preston have also been linked with the 26-year old and it appears that there could be a huge battle this summer between these teams to see who can secure a deal for the Englishman first.

Fulham striker beats Charlton and Brentford stars to London24 Championship Player of the Year award

Ross McCormack held off stiff competition from Charlton's Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson to be named London24's Championship Player of the Year.

The Fulham man bagged 17 goals and nine assists this season in 41 Champtionship matches. He was a shining light in a disappointing season for the Whites as they finished in 17th place, well short of a promotion push.

Former Leeds man McCormack earned 51.4 per cent of the poll, which was conducted on Twitter to decide the winner. He edged out Charlton's Guðmundsson, who landed 40 per cent of the vote. Advertisement - Article continues bellow... Guðmundsson became a fan favourite at The Valley this year after he broke into the Addicks' first-team in his first season at the club.

The tricky winger found the net 10 times this season and contributed four assists as Guy Luzon's men earned a 12th-placed finish in the Championship. Brentford's Alex Pritchard, who spent the season on loan from Tottenham, finished well behind with just 8.6 per cent of the vote. Fulham midfielder faces £15,000 fine and two-game ban

Ryan Tunnicliffe has been charged with aggravated misconduct by reference to sexual orientation after comments posted on his Twitter account.

The former Manchester United midfielder has until next Thursday to respond, and faces the same fate that befell ex-Chelsea defender Robert Huth in January.

Huth was banned for two games and fined £15,000 for comments he made on social media related to gender reassignment.

He admitted breaching Football Association rules by interacting with a Twitter account that asked users to guess the gender of individuals in explicit pictures.

The FA said the offence was "an aggravated breach" due to the subject.

Huth agreed to complete a mandatory education course, and missed the matches at home to QPR and away at Newcastle.

Depending on the outcome of Tunnicliffe's case, he could also be light of pocket and miss the first two games of next season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers reject Fulham bid for 27-year-old defender

Wolverhampton Wanderers have rejected Fulham's bid for defender Richard Stearman, HITC Sport understands.
Wolves have rejected a bid from Fulham for Stearman

Wolves have rejected a bid from Fulham for Stearman

Fulham are understood to have offered £1.5 million for Stearman as Kit Symons looks to strengthen his defence for next season after seeing his side concede 83 goals last season – only relegated Blackpool let in more.

However, Wolves have rejected the bid and made it clear that the defender is not for sale.

Stearman has become an integral part of Kenny Jackett's plans in the last two seasons after returning from a loan spell at Ipswich Town two years ago.

The 27-year-old was named the club's Player of the Year and is expected to hold talks with the Molineux club this summer over extending his current deal, which runs out next summer.

Fulham are monitoring the situation and could make another offer should contract talks break down.

If Stearman fails to agree to a new deal, Wolves may decide to sell him rather than risk letting him leave the club for nothing next summer.

Fulham battle Leeds, Bolton and Ipswich to sign Ben Pringle from Rotherham

Wanted man: Rotherham United's Ben Pringle

Fulham are weighting up an offer for out-of-contract Ben Pringle at Rotherham United.

The 26-year-old Geordie made it plain he wants to leave the side that escaped relegation by the skin of its teeth, with the Whites one of a number of Championship sides courting the left-sided midfielder.

Fulham never really got to grips with the position last term.

A number of players were used with mixed results, and in the end, striker Ross McCormack was required to do a turn out on the left.

The almost ever-present Pringle ran riot down Fulham's right in the first half of the 1-1 draw with the Millers in April, (see gallery) a performance that did him a world of good in the eyes of Whites boss Kit Symons, who faces stiff competition from Leeds, Bolton and Ipswich to sign the player.

Pringle said: "There are one or two things that are going on but, like the majority of players that are in the same position as me, it's just a waiting game to see what comes along," he said.

"I wanted to test myself elsewhere and see if I could go and play at a higher level or play somewhere else and see how I did."

Rotherham were keen to keep Pringle, and he admitted they made him an attractive offer. "They gave me a call and offered me a decent deal, a good deal, but I just felt like I had come to an end," he revealed.

Fulham Looking at Pringle Investment

Blimey, transfer speculation is pouring in at quite a rate this week.

The latest player we.ve been linked to is the Rotherham midfielder Ben Pringle

According to reports, Pringle has turned down reports to stay with Rotherham an dcontract talks have been put on hold.

However, if Kit Symons does have ambitions of bringing Pringle to Craven Cottage he`ll need to head off a whole raft of other clubs said to be showing an interest, a list that is said to include Charlton Athletic, Bolton Wanderers, Ipswich Town and Leeds United.

We`ll keep a close watch on this one to see which way the pendulum swings.

Fulham set to swoop for Millwall goalkeeper

Fulham are set to swoop for out-of-contract Millwall goalkeeper David Forde, reports Get West London.
Forde looks set to join Fulham

Forde looks set to join Fulham

Fulham boss Kit Symons wants the Republic of Ireland international to challenge Marcus Bettinnelli for the No.1 jersey at the club.

Get West London understand that Symons has held talks with Forde about a possible move to Craven Cottage.

Dutch stopper Maarten Stekelenburg looks likely to be leaving the club this summer with Southampton looking the likely destination.

Gabor Kiraly is expected to be released and Richard Lee, who joined the Cottagers on a short-term deal at the back end of last season, has now retired.

It is looking probable that 35-year-old Forde will leave The Den this summer following the Lions' relegation to League One.

The Irishman has established himself as first-choice stopper for the Republic of Ireland under Martin O'Neill and he feels playing in the English third-tier might hamper his chances at international level.

Forde made nearly 300 appearances for Millwall since joining in 2008 and has 23 caps for Ireland.

Fulham sound out Millwall keeper

Fulham want out-of-contract Millwall keeper David Forde to offer competition to Marcus Bettinnelli next term.

Chances are Whites boss Kit Symons will move on out-of-favour Maarten Stekelenburg as quickly as he can, with Southampton linked to the World Cup Dutch international.

Gabor Kiraly is also expected to be released, and the short-term deal for Richard Lee at the back end of the season was just that - the ex-Bees keeper has retired.

It leaves a keeper gap that 35-year-old Forde is expected to fill.

He made 291 appearances for the Lions that included 23 Republic of Ireland caps, and one was on the few saving graces in a doomed campaign.

Reports suggest Symons has already discussed a move with Forde, as Fulham rebuild a squad deemed able to cope with Championship rigours.
