Woodrow's New Deal

Fulham Football Club is delighted to confirm that Cauley Woodrow has signed a contract extension until June 2018, with a Club option for a further year.

The striker joined the Whites from Luton Town four years ago, and made his debut for the Club in March 2014, before scoring his first Fulham goal on the final day of the season against Crystal Palace.

Last term he was a regular in the matchday squad, making 34 appearances, during which time he scored five goals. At the end of the campaign, he was named in Gareth Southgate's preliminary England squad for the Under-21 European Championships.

Well before the moaning starts about lack of ambition I think it shows that the younger players still see a future at the club. Woodrow needs to improve in certain aspects of his game and he will do that at Fulham.

Great business. He should be looking at double figures next season, considering his game time, 5 is a respectable figure and with a bit more clinicalism he'd have seen more game time and touched closer to the 10 goals mark.

His finishing needs to improve, as does some added intelligence (which comes with games) and we've got a player. He's got a lot of attributes that are good enough to be a starter, but another season like the one gone where he's a bit-part player earning his game time will be ideal. Great news, Emerson, Patrick and Moussa next please.
