Ryan Williams joins Barnsley

Fulham Football Club can confirm that Ryan Williams has made a permanent move to Barnsley FC for an undisclosed fee on Sunday morning.

The Australian winger joined Fulham in January 2012, and made three appearances last season before he went on loan to Barnsley in October for three months.

We wish Ryan all the best in the future.

Brentford boss hopes to keep key pair

Brentford boss Marinus Dijkhuizen has insisted he wants to keep hold of striker Andre Gray and left-back Jake Bidwell amid rumours of interest from rival Championship clubs.

QPR and Hull City have been linked with a move for top scorer Gray, while left-back Bidwell was said to be a target for Fulham before they signed Everton's Luke Garbutt.

Dijkhuizen, who has already told midfielder Jonathan Douglas he is free to leave, said he hoped to keep both Gray and Bidwell.

On Gray, he said: "He's a good striker so I can imagine there's always clubs looking for him.

"Every club wants two or three good strikers, and there's always big money involved.

"But I hope not because he's a good player, he's fast, he's strong – I like him."

And Dijkhuizen was equally dismissive of the Bidwell to Fulham rumours, adding: "That's new for me, I've never heard that.

"The position is very vulnerable because we have just one real left-back. So that would be not a good choice [to sell]."

"He's a very good professional, I like his attitude."

Fulham Slip to Defeat in Austria

Over in Austria, Fulham`s pre-season tour game to an end after they were beaten, narrowly, by the German side, Eintracht Frankfurt.

Fulham lost a close game after conceding the strangest of goals.

Harshly penalised for a back-pass, Fulham could only look on in anguish as, from six-yards, Haris Seferovic smashed the free-kick through a wall of bodies positioned on the goal-line.

In a game where chances were few and far between Fulham`s best chance of scoring fell to Ben Pringle but our new signing couldn`t keep his effort on target.

The last few minutes saw some frantic action as Fulham pushed for a late leveller with Tom Cairney and Shaun Hutchinson both went close.

The defeat was the first Fulham have suffered on the tour as Kit Symons prepares his squad for the new Championship season.

Who are ya?! – Emerson Hyndman

USA Under-20 captain Emerson Hyndman is a talent worth watching and the 19-year-old could be set for a break out season at Championship side Fulham this season.

Playing in the centre of the pitch, the midfielder, who stands at 5ft8, is not an imposing figure by any means on the field but he is calm, assured and has tremendous vision which makes him stand out.

He made 9 appearances for Fulham last season in the Championship, and was linked with Spanish club Elche, Borussia Dortmund and several top Eredivisie sides last season but he has pledged his immediate future to Fulham.

Tipped for success

The young American, born in Dallas comes from a footballing family and his grandfather was the coach of FC Dallas and this helped Hyndman join the Dallas youth set-up at just 13 and train with the main squad.

He joined Fulham at 15 and worked his way through their very successful academy and as aforementioned made his debut for them last year as well as for the American national side.

He played for the Under-17's, Under-20's, Under-23's and the full national side last year at just 18 years of age, with his debut for Jurgen Klinsmann coming as a substitute in a friendly against the Czech Republic.

Many important figures in American football have said that Hyndman has a bright future and that he could go on to emulate the likes of Michael Bradley and Landon Donovan as stars of the USMNT.

Standout performances

The youngster was picked for the recent Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand where the United States were eliminated at the quarter-final stage by eventual winners Serbia on penalties after a tightly fought game.

Hyndman was captain of the team and lead from the front, scoring in their opening two games against Myanmar and the hosts New Zealand, whilst also being at the heart of everything the team did from the engine room.

More regular playing time at Fulham is sure to follow for him this season as they look to acheive promotion from the second tier of English football and his name is definitely one we should look out for in the coming months.

Chelsea 'make £2.5m transfer bid to sign Fulham star Marcus Bettinelli'

Chelsea have made a £2.5million bid to sign Marcus Bettinelli from Fulham, according to reports.

The Blues have been scouting England Under-21 goalie Bettinelli for months and have finally decided to move in to sign him.

According to the Times, a £2.5m bid has gone in and Chelsea are now looking at wrapping up a transfer quickly.

It's not clear if Bettinelli will stay at Chelsea or leave on-loan if the move goes through, but it's thought that he would be a quality addition.

Bettinelli would be Chelsea's third summer signing following the arrivals of Radamel Falcao and Asmir Begovic.
