...I just noticed this on the BBC website regarding the transfers/loans made during the 'window'and here, nestling quietly was:-

Back in 2000 we bought him for £2 million, in real terms taking into consideration his appearances and goals, he cost us £8,000 per game and £1 million per goal. I wonder how friendly Tigana was with his agent at the time.. ::)
