Hooper Back-Up

Norwich need to buy if they are going to loan the player to us. Only one hour to go and it doesn't appear they have signed anyone yet.

Do we know if we have a backup for Hooper if this falls through?

Sky sources understand Norwich have offered Crystal Palace forward Dwight Gayle a four-year deal at the club.

The clubs are currently discussing a fee for the 24-year-old

Well they signed Mbokani yesterday didn't they? Plus they still have Jerome and Grabban. Granted they would still be a little light

Norwich will be much lighter if they move Hooper. He's carrying an extra stone, maybe more.

I don't think we do. Vydra has done to Reading, the reason we don't have Hooper yet is because Norwich haven't managed to get Dwight Gayle yet.

I'd be happy with Dembele leading the line until Smith comes back at the least. In Woodrow or Dembele, we don't have that proven 20 goal scorer that Gary Hooper is likely to be, but that doesn't mean that they can't score those goals though.

Then again, the loan window opens in a week, so Norwich's deal for Gayle could go to the line and we may have to wait another week to get the loan done.

Anyway, no I don't think we have a back up for Hooper.
