Agree with Woolly.  In the end its the refs decision to make. 
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

As a ref, I always made sure the socks were different, easier to see the difference between the 2 teams, especially when you are looking down at the ball.  Shorts really didn't matter.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most...
