You'd assume this right?

Lonergan
Richards
Stearman
Ream
Husband
O'Hara
Cairney
Pringle
Tunnicliffe
Dembele
McCormack
First game: Fulham 4 Burnley 0, December 12th 1998.

HamsterWheel

You'd assume that Kit will pick not just who he thinks are his current best eleven, but the eleven he thinks are best to beat QPR.
But you might be wrong.

Jimmy Hill

Id go for this

              Lonergan

Fredricks Stearman Burn Ream

            Tuni Ohara

   Cainey   LVC   Mcormack

             Dembele

I would be shocked if he didn't pick this side (assuming all are fit), and in the formation that we've played all season and preseason

Would really like to see:

                                  Lonergan

          Richards    Stearman    Burn      Ream

                            Tunni        O'Hara

                        LVC      Cairney     Pringle

                                     Ross

Ross is rubbish on his own, not a penalty box player as he likes to drop deep, we need Moussa as he's the only player that plays off the last man.

Ok. Now, let's play in the real world where, even though you believe he is rubbish, he's still going to play. Where do you play him?

                      Lonergan

Jazz    Stearman  Burn   Ream

             Tunnicliffe  O'hara

LVC            McCormack             Husband

                      Dembele

After seeing the back 4 play so well I find it hard to want to change it. Hard to leave out Cairney and Pringle but I thought LVC made a huge impact when moved out wide and he has more pace/power to run at players and create space for others than Cairney. The dilemma is Cairney has more ability and vision when in that space I'm talking about.

Good dilemma to have though!

Won't happen but I would like to see a back three with wing backs:

                               Lonergan

                  Stearman  Burn   Ream

Jazz       Cairney      Mattila   O'Hara (later Tunnicliffe)     Husband (later Fredericks)

                             McCormack

                      Smith (later Dembele)

I like this but don't see Kit changing his style of play.

I like what Toodles and Danny have but out.  Stick with the same back four as the last two games.  Subs to be Fredricks (if fit) for LVC, Smith for Dembele', and Mattila for Tunn.  Final score 2-1 Fulham.

Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

As I said he's rubbish on his own so you play two up front. Him and Moussa.

Other than the long-term injuries, if everyone is fit I would field the following:

                     LONERGAN

RICHARDS   STEARMAN   BURN     REAM

LVC        TUNNI         O'HARA          CAIRNEY

        McCORMACK       DEMBELE

SUBS:
Lewis, Fredericks, Husband, Pringle, Woodrow, Matilla, Hyndman

filham

The performance from LVC on Tuesday night surely means that Kit has to give full consideration to finding a place for him and it looks as if he could provide a solution to our lack of pace in wide positions,

Also Ros seemed out of touch on Tuesday but I think Kit will, understandably, continue to show faith n him. How about starting with:-

                                            LONERGAN
                     RICHARDS     STEARMAN    BURN  REAM

                      LVC           O, HARA       TUNNI   CAIRNEY

                               MCCORMAC    DEMBELE

If Smith is fit then at

half time he could replace Dembele and if Frederick is fit he could replace Richards.

Pringle all day long. Don't care that he put in a couple of crosses last night. His form has been poor
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

My team would be.       Andy
Fredericks. Stearman. Ream.  Husband
Cairney. Tunni. Ohara. LVC
Dembele. Ross

I'd drop burn as Austin would make him look like bambi on ice. Pringle would be dropped because lvc is just alot better.and tunni is in there to try and keep matt Phillips quiet.

With Richards out, I'll go like-for-like and pop Ryan Fredericks in. I think it's time to bring Christensen back in - get some real agility and mobility on either flank, pushing Cairney to the left. Lasse'll be great for the nature of a derby game too.

--------------------Lonergan--------
Fredericks----Stearman----Burn----Ream
Christensen--Tunnicliffe---O'Hara--Cairney
---------------Dembele---McCormack-------

We'll still need strength from set pieces given they've scored a fair few from them this year - Austin will need taking care of too in a physical battle. Christensen and Cairney to give some energy down wide to help covering Chery and Phillips, plus pushing them the other way. Tunnicliffe can deal with Luongo and Faurlin breaking forward with O'Hara the pivot. Dembele vs Onuoha will be fascinating tonight in an attempt to give Ross McCormack space to work in.
