AJ is never going to be effective in the prem...all the injuries have basically taken away his one true weapon which was speed (back in the CP and Everton days)....

Not AJs fault he keeps being injured after he was knocked about earlier. But as we changed the way we played to make BZ look good we could allow AJ and his faulty guidance system to go up the blind alley and make a midfielder fill the space in the middle. If he can find his feet again he can still do a job for us. I don't mean cleaning out the showers either

I could understand the negative stuff if he was playing but he's injured. His stats so far are;
AJ    played 49 scored 13. that's a goal every 3.76 games
BZ    played 69 scored 15.                          4.6
Joe   played 44 scored 10.                          4.4          
Saha played 94 scored 31.                          3.03 (premiership years only)

It's a shame he ever got smashed by the mad Ruski in the early Europa games.  he looked fit with a full pres-season under his belt and had good touch.  Once you get an injury that has you out for more than a couple of weeks, it is near impossible to get back to the levels you had and playing half fit, trying to find form just leads to a spate of other injuries.

I have to agree that his pace looks gone and it could be the end of his premiership life.

Sorry to hear that Finn...... I still remember our old Aussie Cattle Dog in the back of Dad's ute looking at me knowingly, aged about 15 and off to the vets to be put down as he was riddled with cancer.  Dad can't bring himself to get another pup.

I can never understand why people can go out and buy another dog and call it the same name as the last one. Anyway I still remember our Dog having to be put down, She was a good age, about 12, but had cancer. She tried to hide in the Garden the last day as she knew she was close to death. Anyway I was 16 I think and still remember the day clearly.

Oh yeah and give AJ a chance to be fit before taking him to the vets.

My wonderful collie got so bad that I had to put her down about this time last year. I still haven't gotten over the 13 years I had her. I've always had dogs but just can't find my way to get another...at least not yet. :'(

Out from left-field topic: Worked at an emergency pet clinic for a year...saw enough pets put down to last a life-time.  A tough thing to see families say good-bye to pets.

I am going to have to read my Bible after reading this thread and the sad stories of putting dogs down. I love dogs but won't own one after we had to put our family dog down when I was 19 or 20. The house had an empty feeling to it after that day for some reason.

Let's give AJ another shot although it looks like it won't be till next year.

Again, he came to us with an injury and continues to have them. It is too bad really.

...having met the guy I can confirm he is very likeable and amiable and I do not doubt his committment. Sadly though, in my opinion he is no longer the force he was in terms of speed and goal 'nouse'. I think he gets pulled out right too much and the games have been worked around providing him - even when it does not seem to be reaping the benefits.

Our whole team shape improved when he became injured, players seemed to come out of themselves and express themselves more.

I do not wish any harm or ills on the guy, so in light of this latest injury news should I feel guilty of not treating this as a desperately bad news for Fulham. I am more concerned that we get Pants and Konch back and Hughes covers for Hangeland and Gera fit...

As this is all about opinions, heres mine. Just imagine the scene, two Fulham Supporters sitting in a pub discussing their teams poor run of form. One says to the other "its bad is'nt it, who can we blame, I know AJ". The other responds with thats not fair, he has hardly played this season, to which the other responds exactly, he has not scored any goals, so its natural we should blame him.

Sorry Finn but just why should we get shot of him, its not his fault that we paid a lot of money for him. Last season, though the goal returns were not good, he was still our joint highest scorer and befor he was steamrollered by that Russian, things were looking quite good. So why should we get rid of him?
