The age of our midfield.

Should be noted that our midfield yesterday of Cairney, Tunnicliffe, Fredericks and Christensen were aged 24, 23, 23 and 21

Considering players aren't normally expected to hit their prime until they're in their late 20s it bodes exceptionally well. As someone also mentioned having real pace again is an exciting change.

Add in the fact James Husband is 21, Richards is 24 and Moussa is only 19 it looks even better.

7 of 11 are players with both age and potential on their side.

I'd also like to mention Kaka, who despite the ups and downs and frustrating people at times, he should be commended for his under-the-radar and underappreciated professional aptitude and dedication to the club. He's been with us in the premiership, joined us as a youth player, stayed with us in the championship, never whinged, never looked like leaving, we've never heard him say a negative or bad thing publicly, or stated his ambition to leave. A rare modern pro in the game and I hope he can build consistency in to his undoubted ability as he's a real asset to the club. no pri-madonna attitudes either, which considering those youth players who've come and gone without any real match experience and had huge egos and left to be on subs benches, when he's played full internationals alongside the likes of Ibrahimovic etc and produced the goods and scored on that level too. Yeah, can't speak highly enough of him right now.

Joe Lewis has just turned 28.

Jazz Richards, 24, replaced by just turned 23 year old Ryan Fredericks. Richard Stearman is 28, as is Tim Ream who is recently 28 also. James Husband is 21.

Alex Kacaniklic is 24. Lasse Vigen Christensen is 21, Ryan Tunnicliffe, 22. Tom Cairney is 24.

Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele both had summer birthdays, turning 29 and 19 respectively.

There was an experienced spine in Lewis, Stearman-Ream and McCormack up top, surrounded by exciting young players.

Yesterday we played with the sparkle of a young team and it was so enjoyable for us fans. A few more performances like that and the Kit out brigade will be looking for hiding places.
