Hi Everyone,

We had a very interesting interview with Wayne Veysey. Take a listen and make your own judgment of what he had to share. Later on we also previewed the upcoming match for Fulham against Bolton.

So I guess it's a problem that Jukanovic want to take his back room staff with him. We got Gray lined up for him :-D

NDorsetwhite

Come on then Khan - stop shillyshallying, put your money where your mouth is and seal the deal with Jokanovic. I hope the fallback option of Tony Mowbray is just a negotiating tool to pressurise Jokanovic/Maccabi into agreement

Lighthouse

I think the point is that Fulham were pretty confident at the beginning of the week with Jokanovic  But directly negotiations take place and compensation and staff are mentioned Fulham go into a swoon.

Mowbray seems to be happy to use the coaches Fulham have and will be the cheaper option.

But it still makes me wonder. With the January transfer window not being an issue as we will not be able to buy players apparently. What was the point of sacking Symons and causing unrest and upset?
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

So Rigg could be seen to be doing something?

RaySmith

Also, Wayne said that the club is no longer thinking they will go up this season.

The saying, 'Caught between a rock and a hard place' seems apt.

Symons' management was, after all, already the cause of considerable unrest and upset among supporters on social media. Had the Club not acted, the five-goal thrashing before the two-week break would have seen the criticism of Kit reach unprecedented heights (or descend to new depths - depending on one's view) and this would have continued all the while we remained inconsistent under him.

What strikes me is that you have posed this same question a number of times despite knowing the answer. (There is, I am quite sure, nothing in my reply of which you are not already aware.) I've yet to see you disagree with the scenario had Kit not been sacked so what is your motive?

"put your money where your mouth is and seal the deal with Jokanovic"

It may not be as simple as that, if the cost of getting the three from the Israeli club counts for FFP purposes.

At least it sounds as though the Club has a fall back option that can be achieved if signing J etc fails.

It seems that several posters still cannot see how out of his depth Kit was and either because they like Kit as an individual (as most if not all of us do) or believe we would be better off waiting until he left at the end of his contract, think Khan acted unfairly/prematurely.

It is the decision to retain Kit after the end of the 2014/5 season that has cost us any realistic chance of promotion this year, and if Veysey is right in saying the Club's senior management take the view that promotion is now unrealistic hopefully they are now reflecting on what a poor decision retaining Kit was.

But that is water under the bridge now, and whether it is J or Mowbray, we are much better off making the change mid this season rather than if we had limped along with Kit until May next year. The new guy will have plenty of time to weigh up the players, decide who to retain and who to jettison and, if the socialistic rules now governing football finances allow, he'll be able to add to the squad in the summer. This is another season wasted, courtesy of the twerp who owns us, but at least we should be able to begin the 2016/7 season with some optimism.

Don't honk we can just put up cash willy nilly, maybe that will breach out FFP further down the line? If we pay the compo we will also then have to pay off a couple of coaches we already employ, so more compo all of which goes against FFP I believe. We have lost some sponsorship on the shirt front too, so it isn't going to be easy.

Really - what a surprise!

RaySmith

Well, they  sacked Kit because he didn't meet the points total after games played for promotion, according to Wayne - although we were only 6 points off  sixth place, so I did find this news surprising.

We could still get a play -off place if we put a run together, but we could also be relegated! need to start getting points on  board, starting today. COYW!!!

As I said to Wayne on the show, 40 days ago we did have a chance for the playoffs and now because of the five games and no wins we have almost zero chance now, and that the senior management and Mike Rigg in particular have to take the blame for that in not replacing quicker. Wayne sort of corrected me by then blaming Khan as well for not letting Rigg spend too much on the man. Which in all honesty there has to be a budget and Rigg should should do his homework on who fits that budget.

Berserker

It does seem that Wayne is fed info by the club to present on Cottage talk.  Is this a two way situation in as much as he feeds back your and the other Presenters responses, or do you think a club rep listens into the show?

We have had our journalists on the show so its not as if hes the only one Russ has let on. We had Lyall Thomas on at the start of the search as well.
I think just as you read things and listen to him, it all has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Some things he will get right and some not. He was spot on not only about Gray, but more that another man would be coming in. Now at the time he did say possibly a dutchman but that has not happened, but the plan for someone else is clearly to come in.

So while we have given him airtime, I hope that both Russ and myself asked enough questions to clarify what he was saying was from a good source. he did not like me calling it gossip at the end of the show and was clear  its from a senior person at the club.

Hoppus

Again, excuse my English (I am Norwegian).
I think it`s a bit strange that we sign up Gray, and then later try to sign a head coach/manager who we know will bring he's own staff. The chemistry between the head coach/manager and the assistans is very important as I see it, and I understand why Mr. Jakonovic want to bring he's own people.
I just keep my fingers crossed we can agree a compensation with Tel Aviv. He got Watford promoted and is a young and ambitious guy.
