I think Mike Rigg seems a nice bloke. Always polite when ive spoken to him either by email or at a 21s game. Whether hes good at his job is another matter but definitely doesnt deserve personal abuse

Right. We should save the abuse for Khan who was an absolute gentleman when I met him. He took his time with fans and answered the same questions over and over with patience. Yep, save the abuse for him.

Did jolsover say that? Or are you stirring again? 086.gif

Just stirring. I'm frustrated as hell by the constant drum beat about Khan.

Spot on.....as usual!

I am afraid that this place is swamped by a lot of posters looking for scapegoats and Khan is the top man. That said, Rigg and Mackintosh come in for pretty much an equal and as vitriolic, if not more so, amount of abuse and people calling for them to be sacked when none of us know the detail of what is really going on.

These people analyse every word , as in Khan's message today, to see if they can find a crack and when there isn't a message they complain and make up their own conspiracy theory.

You overlook the fact that so many of the nattering nabobs of negativism know so much more about football than do the assorted coaches we have had over the past years, the front office and of course, Mr. Khan.

PS
My apologies to Mr. Buchanan.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

if our assorted coaches knew anything about football, then we wouldn't have had to change them so much ;)

I may not have said it but I believe that it will be the case. It is much easier to confident of your opinions if you do not allow them to be hindered by knowledge or experience.

What's a matter with you lot? You're all go and buy the bloke a drink wouldn't you?

I was polite and didn't abuse him. Read the post! I gave my personal opinions within my post not directly to him.
I gave you inside info which has come off. You should have lumped some £££ on it and been thanking me.
Sorry but Rigg is completely in charge of all football activities and earns a 7 figure salary. So what if I interrupted his drink. Look at our position in the league. 3 points off relegation. A 6ft 8 inch bambi on ice centre half that can't even walk playing every week. An under 21 coach stating " he doesn't want the job and can't wait to get out managing the 1st team.  Conceded 14 goals from corners this season. WTF Wise up boys.

Thanks for the information, now all confirmed.
But yes, I would have bought him and his wife a drink to say thanks for his time and consideration.  Even Football Directors are human and despite the salary, it is still a job and not their entire life.

win-dup

I think it's amazing that you knew what Mike Rigg looked like seeing as I wouldn't recognise most of the first team on the pitch let alone in a pub.

millsy

I say thanks to the original poster and to fulhamben for sharing what they knew with us. Both gave me a little hope amidst the general doom & gloom being touted and the rumours and misinformation that led us to believe that the deal was stalled and we were back to the drawing board.

Our people seem to have played their cards pretty well on this one. Joka would have been my first choice and glad the others, Lambert, Pearson, Clarke et al, fell through for whatever reasons. Time will tell if he's the right man for us but I now, at least, have some hope for a brighter future.

Likewise, I'm assuming that was him shown on the big screen with Ali Mac after the 4th goal?

Yes that was him and Ali Mac

MJG

I didn't see the screen image of Ali Mac or Rigg but I can tell you they were sat from left to right was  Rigg, Jokanović,   Escobar and then Ally Mac. Not sure who the man to the right of Mac was.

Yep, cannot disagree with that.

As for chatting with Khan at Jags, he was a very pleasant man, gave direct answers to direct questions. In no way does that:
a. Make him more knowledgeable about footie as any other fan, and likely a damn sight less than most who have been in management for a time
b. A target when he is out with his wife at Christmas for a boning about current matters at the club.

That also goes for the others in the management team at Fulham.

It appreciated that as fans we are very concerned at the state of the club and really want answers, but if I had been in the OPs shoes and had interrupted Rigg, or any other member of the club, whilst they were socialising with their wife, I feel would have bought the guy and his wife a drink, or at least offered to, after all, it is Christmas!

Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.
