Man Of The Match Result from the Official

Dan Burn took almost half of all the votes cast – 47.7 per cent – to be named Man of the Match against Hull City on Saturday.

The centre-back dealt well with the physical threat of Abel Hernandez throughout the game, with the Tigers' top scorer only managing to find the back of the net from the penalty spot.

Burn was the busiest man on the pitch with 108 touches – a number equalled by Jamie O'Hara – which included five interceptions, 75 accurate passes, and five duels for possession in which he won the ball.

Scott Parker was his closest competitor with 22.9 per cent of the votes, just ahead of former Hull man Tom Cairney who took 20.5.

Ream: We Deserved More

Tim Ream felt Fulham more than deserved to get something out of Saturday's narrow defeat to promotion-chasing Hull City.

Despite sitting at different ends of the Sky Bet Championship table, the Whites were the better side, only for a late penalty by Abel Hernandez to win it for the visitors and send Hull top.

It left Ream and his teammates rightly feeling hard done by, and the American told the official website: "We came in with a good plan, we wanted to keep possession of the ball and really defend from the front. When we lost it, we wanted to really get after them and for the majority of the game we did that very well.

"It's unfortunate that a penalty has done us in but over the course of the 90 minutes I think it's pretty safe to say that we were the team on top."

There were no complaints about the award of the spot-kick with 10 minutes left after Lasse Vigen Christensen lost his footing and pulled down Moses Odubajo.

"Lasse is upset, but like Scotty Parker said in the dressing room, it can happen to anybody," said Ream. "It's not like it was a set-play and someone lost their marker, it's one of those things that can happen.

"In fairness to Lasse, he had a little issue with one of his legs just beforehand and he just got tangled up with himself and ended up pulling the guy over. You feel for him because he's been playing well, but without a doubt it was a penalty and something we have to swallow."

HITC Sport understands Fulham striker Adam Taggart is set to leave the club to return to Australia.

Fulham foward Adam Taggart has agreed a deal to re-join former club Perth Glory, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Taggart joined Fulham in the summer of 2014 from Newcastle Jets after impressing at the World Cup with Australia where he played against the Netherlands and Spain in the group stages.

The 22-year-old saw his first season at Fulham hampered by injuries and he has yet to make a first-team appearance for the club.

Taggart joined Scottish side Dundee United on transfer deadline day in the summer and he made nine appearances for the Tannadice outfit before returning to Fulham earlier this month.

Fulham are willing to let Taggart leave as he is well down the pecking order at Craven Cottage and he does not figure in the club's long-term plans.

Celtic and Fulham submit enquiry to seal deal for Championship striker

Celtic have tabled a formal enquiry over the availability of Bristol City striker Kieran Agard, according to HITC Sport.
Read more at http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/celtic-and-fulham-submit-enquiry-to-seal-deal-for-championship-striker/#T0pLFIwaFbZFROXS.99

In only six starts for City this season, Agard has scored three goals, and has put in some highly commendable performances this season for the Championship club, attracting interest from several clubs, including Celtic, Fulham and Wigan.

Celtic currently sit top of the Scottish Premiership, six points clear of second placed Aberdeen, and are seemingly on the hunt for some new players this month.

Manager Ronny Delia will be looking to secure a deal to land another striker, either for back up or for the first team, in case in-form striker Leigh Griffiths opts to move away from Scotland this January.

At 26-years-old, Agard might not have too much potential left to fill, but a move to the Scottish champions could suit his career, and the striker could excel in a squad full of attacking talent.

Bristol City however, will not be in a rush to let their front man go, and whoever takes over from Steve Cotterill, will surely have a say in whether the former Arsenal youth player has a future at the club.

For now, Agard is a City player, but with deadline day fast approaching, that fact could be about to change.

Bristol City fans..... How good is Kieran Agard? Would you be gutted to see him leave? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!

From SB Nation - Fulham closing in on Austrian defender Michael Madl

SK Sturm Graz has confirmed that the move is close to complete.

Fulham is currently under a transfer embargo and can only sign players on free transfers or on loans, but this deal seems to be all but complete.

The club has confirmed in a statement on their website that Michael Madl left the training camp in Belek and is traveling to London for a medical checks with Fulham.

The club's general manager Gerhard Goldbrich said:

We have put together a good overall package with the English giants Fulham FC and will have final negotiations tomorrow.
Michael Madl added this when asked about the transfer:

I had three wonderful years at Sturm, but the time has come for me to take advantage of the chance to play in England. I would like to thank the black and white for giving me the opportunity to fulfill this dream.

Since Madl still has 18 months left on his contract, this must be a loan deal. Most likely there is an option of some sort to buy him outright when the embargo is lifted.

Fulham have struggled in defense and has not been able to find a backline that works for them. Is Madl the kind of player that could help sort his out? Cottagers Confidential reached out to Tim Armitage who covers Austrian Football for Football Radar and for his own site From London to Lintz. Tim had this to say:

Took over captaincy for Sturm Graz at the beginning of the 14/15 season and has gone from strength to strength since then - made 128 appearances for the club.
Not the tallest of defenders (1.83m) but is still good in the air (defensively) and a threat from corners when attacking.
He is somewhat of a free-kick 'specialist' although his goal scoring record from set-pieces is not great.
He was recently linked with the likes of 1860 Munich in the 2.Bundesliga although a move never materialised.
Although he is yet to earn a cap for the Austrian national team, he was in 4 of their last 5 squads and could be with the team in summer for the Euros.
To sum him up - he is a hardworking, gritty defender who acts as a leader on the pitch and can win you games from the back - however, he has been known to lose his head at times, either making silly decisions or lacking concentration.
Set piece defending sounds good. Fulham have struggled there, and anyone who can help will be an asset. Though the final caveat makes him sound like a typical Fulham defender. Let's just hope his lack of concentration and silly decisions are less frequent than the players already at the club.

Brighton beat Fulham to Steve Sidwell loan capture

Brighton have signed Steve Sidwell from Stoke on loan until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old, who was also being chased by Championship rivals and Sidwell's former club, Fulham, completed the move on Monday and returns to Albion, where he had a two-month loan spell in the Sky Bet Championship in 2002/03.

Manager Chris Hughton told the club's official site: "Steve is an experienced player who has played virtually his entire career in the Premier League. He knows this club, as well as a few of the squad and will supplement our existing midfield options.

"Beram Kayal, Dale Stephens, Andrew Crofts and others have been excellent in midfield for us this season, but we also need to make sure we have good options in every position of the team, and options which will be enough for us through until the end of the season.

"Steve brings that, and in addition, he is another experienced head; he is a player who's proven at the very top level of English football. Brighton fans will know Steve is also a great athlete and top professional, so I'm absolutely delighted he has decided to join us."

Former Chelsea midfielder Sidwell scored five goals in 12 games during his previous loan at Brighton and has been at Stoke since 2014 but has played just 20 times.

Ah ha !!! Just what we need, another short centre back who losses concentration and has a tendency to dive in.
Oh! and he's a leader, just like Stearman who cant even get a game !

Hoppus

He was the best player in the league the last two seasons. Crap?
Wanted by Fulham last summer, so I guess this is a Rigg signing.

filham

Doesn't sound quite like the big, ugly, strong, commanding figure we have all been dreaming about as our new central defender.
However sounds as though he will blend well into our back four.
