Charlton - 20 Feb

Clearing out more old programmes this afernoon I turfed out a few Charlton progs from the 70s.  There's a warm message from their then chairman to the fans inviting them to engage in dialogue with the club through fans forums etc.  Signing off, 'Yours in Sport' was a nice touch.

Fast forward to 2016, what a contrast with their supporters being likened by the club to people attending the cinema and the ticket office closed during the week so an NHS hotline can operate.

I've always enjoyed our tussles* with Charlton & the trip to the Valley before all seater stadiums was impressive.  We should organise a protest in their support in Bishops Park before the game to show our solidarity for their plight?


*with the exception of the year they smashed the Cottage windows or any match when they fielded Derek Hayles.   049:gif
