So John Terry is leaving Chelsea in the summer after they announced that Chelsea are not offering him a new deal. He's still a talented CB and a million miles ahead of the ones we have. But could you ever see yourself cheering him on in a Fulham shirt? Could you put your disgust and hatred of the man to one side for the good of the team?

6 months ago I'd have said absolutely no chance, but now, with the way our defence is playing, I just dont know. I'm so desperate to see us defend well that I'm actually thinking............. Na, I cant say it.

So what about you guys?

love4ffc

It's a no for me for several reasons.

1. He is past his prime
2. He is not the kind of person I would prefer to represent Fulham
3. His wages would be way to high for us under an embargo and FPP rules

He will more than likely go to the States to play for some team.
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

H4usuallysitting

Nope.....he's probably off to the States

Fat Frank already has a fat line laid out for him.

Yes
He can do a job for us next season.
One year contract
VERY DAFT AND A LOT DAFTER THAN I SEEM, SOMETIMES

Wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. Bloke is a scum bag and easily the most over rated defender of my generation.

This came up when Terry dared to park in a disabled spot. Better not get into that again.

Saying he isn't nice enough to play in a fulham shirt is pathetic. I couldn't care less what a footballer was like in his personal life as long as he plays well on the pitch and respects the fans and the club. Although there some exceptions out there of players I detest and wouldn't want them to sign regardless of their quality. Even though its past impossible to get Terry for various reasons I would take him in a heartbeat. He would be so good for our defense.

No. He really wouldn't. He is as poor as any of our defenders. He needs a world class player next to him to mop up his continuous mistakes. He is slow and has the turning circle of a oil tanker.
He is seen as a warrior because he "puts his body on the line for the sake of the club", but that's usually after he has made a massive mistake in the first place. I'd rather have Frank (OGGIE) Sinclair than John (PIKEY) Terry.

No, no, a hundred times no.  Morally bankrupt is a polite description.  Amongst others:
insulting American tourists after 9/11, night club assaults, indiscreet extra marital activity, including with teammate Wayne Bridge's wife,
taking money for tours of Chelsea's training ground, racist abuse.  And he has piggy eyes.
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

Er .......... So that's a no then?

It seems that Terry has finished in England and is of to some lucrative overseas posting so the question does not arise.
Like to see us building a defence that could stay together for a few seasons rather than one patched up with one season stop gaps.

If he played for Fulham he'd be a legend. You're just being bitter because he plays for Chelsea. Comparing him to our defenders is embarrasing.

Yes - wouldn't care if Atilla the Hun signed for us if he could keep the ball out of our net, and think Terry even past his best is better than anyone we currently have.

It's got nothing to do with him playing for Chelsea. I can appreciate good players, which he is not. Add to that, his lack of morals in every respect, and you have someone I dislike immensely.
If he was that good a defender, why weren't Chelsea as good before the Abramovich bank came and partnered him with the likes of Carvalho. With whom he had his best spell at the club with. Because Carvalho cleaned up after him.
If he played for us, and behaved the way he has, he's not be a legend in my eyes.

So how do you explain last season when they won the league and only lost a handfull of times? Who was in defense? It was Terry and Cahill. They had the best defensive record in the league.

If thats the case hes done well for himself for 18 years being a fraud! I never understand these comments....best centre back of my generation!

In regards to the OP, yes i'd take him in a heartbeat. But he will be off to Italy or the MLS i reckon, shame as i still think he could do a job in the Prem.

Can we steer clear of any unsubstantiated allegations please. Some of you may question his morals but the depth of his pockets aren't in doubt and the last thing we need are his legal reps having a look at this thread...

Cheers

New Kid on the Block

I seem to remember when Fulham consisted of mainly ageing and past it players, many members on this Forum, quite rightly, complained about it, and banged on about how we needed to rebuild, using young, hungry players.

Why is it then, that as soon as an ageing, past it player is out of contract, do many of you put their name forward, as a 'good fit' for Fulham? Vidic, and now Terry, to name but two. The fact that neither are as good as many people state, is irrelevant. We do not need players here that no-one else wants. They are not wanted by their club for a reason.
