Thank goodness for Andy Lonergan, saved the bacon in those closing minutes. Derby usually hand us the points, just an own goal today

Mince n Tatties

Yes,there's worse than him around.
Hasn't let us down since he came into the side..

millsy

Agreed. Wish he'd come for crosses though.

Did you see him come for the first free kick? Best place for him is on the line

Yeah. Lonergan won us the point today with those late saves, not for the first time this season.

Can't believe we might have been moving for Alex McCarthy last week, replacing Lonergan when he's been such a lifesaver for us just doesn't seem right.

We'd be well acquainted with the relegation zone without him. No doubt.

Or picking the ball out of the net, not getting so much practice at that lately though!

because he couldn't keep a clean sheet to save his life, his kicking is suspect and he doesn't command his box. Decent shot stopper as shown again today but that's it. And derby's own player saved as many shots today for us as Andy did. They had 3 on target the one he saved where jazz let the striker in, the one where the Derby player got a good block in for us where Andy had been wrong footed and the goal. So our keeper saved 34% of the shots on target today. That's why we were looking at another keeper

He is a great shot stopper, but doesn't command his area at all. He has done a good job for us, but I would prefer a better rounded keeper. I suspect but can't be sure that our leaky defence is partly due to his lack of command of his area

Part of the problem could be the defence, a keeper needs to have confidence in them

it's never ending. We blame the defence for the keeper letting I'm so many goals, and then we blame the midfield for not doing the defenders job for them. Some have even blamed our strikers for the reason why we have let in so many goals.

Remember the one he came off his line for early in the game and failed to make contact, never seen him come out for a cross with any success.
But other than that a first class performance with several match saving saves, easily MOM.

Actually on the saves point, they probably didn't count the one that hit their own player (that would be blocked), they counted the Russell save, the christie save and the goal, so when you look at it that way he saved 66% of the shots at him. Agree with the command of the box though, not really good enough, but the Betts and Lewis don't do a lot of that either.

Stockdale was bloody useless at commanding the area for us and stood rooted to his goal line, still didn't stop him getting God like status from some on here !

stockdale could keep clean sheets, and is way better than Andy.

Tend to agree.  Question is whether Betts will be any better, particularly coming back from such an injury that may well have affected his confidence.

copthornemike

Recently Lonergan has produced excellent saves early and late in the match so well done him.

Yesterday his distribution was much better despite a tricky, strong wind which both teams struggled with, but could have been improved if our backs pushed up quick when he gained possession. We are slow when transitioning from defence and opposing teams seem to find it easy to force Lonergan to punt it upfield.

But we could really do with a commanding, confident keeper who bosses the 6 yard area and communicates with the defence. With his height there is no reason why he should not take any cross into the area so I would mark him as a well done but could do so much better..

Thought he could of done better with the goal they scored!! It hardly nestled in the corner, seems to be quite static at times.

Nah, that's incredibly harsh. The ball was travelling away from him at pace and with spin as it was side-footed.
