Fayed selling the Dems and not replacing so he could pay himself dividends with the proceeds.
The Swansea freak 1-3 comeback which meant Jol kept his job.

No need to over think this. We all know why we are in a mess.

No money invested in the team when Fayed was selling the club.
Sold to somebody without any experience of the game.
Poor decisions in management appointments.
Sacking our last manager when we were mid table knowing there was no money to be spent.
Spending so long appointing a new manager who has been unable to stop us becoming relegation threatened from mid table obscurity.

Its been a bit of a nightmare hasn't it. My Rangers pal just texted me after seeing the table tonight and couldn't believe how tight its got at the bottom. He tried to comfort me by saying he has hated the last two seasons. I told him I've hated the last 4.

4 seasons. 4 seasons of doom and gloom. Its all a bit much.

However, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I have faith in our manager. We truly have a game plan for the first time in 4 or seasons. I know we will stay up and I know next season will be much better.

It was straight after we sold Dempsey and Dembele for me. We had a relatively comfortable 2011-12 season, the first few games of 2012-13 we looked really good then we go and sell our two most influential players without replacement - suicide.

Also, it does coincide with when we bought Berbatov

Berbatov isnt the reason we are struggling now and for the last 3 years. His first season was great and we finished mid table-ish if I remember (no on moaned about him then).

What followed was the issue, maybe a lack of investment, maybe Jol lost the players when he changed form the formation that worked with Berba playing, then a succession of manager changes, Jol to Rene (I still think he would have kept us up), Rene to McGath those 3 managers were all inside 4 months.

Then we should have got rid of McGath when we went down, but alas we kept him, we then gave it to Kit, who to be fair got us back to being the club we love and improved results at the start of his caretaker reign, for me and I said this on threads at the time he was never the right man for the job, however as time went on his results dipped, in hindsight the club the probably should only have been given the caretaker role till the end of the season so we could review the situation. Going into this season it compounded everything and now we need to pick those pieces up again.

We cannot have another complete rebuild, midfield wise and forward wise we have a decent set of players its defensively where we struggle, we need to look at those positions this summer. We will lose some players for sure but if we start from the back and build from there i think we may get where we need to be.

To sum up its a multitude om successive mistakes that have us where we are now.
