Shouldn't investigations have started more or less the day after the plan was announced (or preferably before)
@MattRhys63 - be warned, there will be a lot of nonsense

Fulham76

They're only a small company & fairly young too! Assumed the contractor would be a larger more established business.

Although it does say they specialise in drilling so maybe they're only doing part of the groundwork before someone else takes over the 'build'.

They'll have a series of investigations. Especially if they are the foundation specialists being that close to the river.

Domino 1879

As I have mentioned elsewhere, I believe the Buckingham Group are the selected main contractor IF the project goes ahead.
The main soil investigations took place over a year ago.
Not sure what this supplementary survey work was about, but its not uncommon to go back and carry out some further investigations.
Agree its a bit late in the day though if the project is starting this Summer.

I think this company are doing the investigations and the work for the marine work that needs doing, i.e. into the thames

Its shouldn't be underestimated the amount of work they have to do within the river area. And I don't mean just building, there is even some conservation work to be done. None of which could have been done before because it would need doing again.

This just seems to drag on forever.  Yet more investigations at this late stage does seem tardy at best.

But you don't even know what they  are so why moan about it?   If you had planning permission issued 3 years ago and had checks done, you may well go back and check again before work starts.

100% agree, the marine works are incredibly complex, and needs to be done inline with all set conservation requirements. Can only be done within 2/3 months of commencement I would guess.
