How has Mike Rigg alienated/annoyed so many people at Fulham FC?

I've heard many rumours from various people - the main one being the bloke thinks he knows far more than he actually does and acts like a wanabee football manager. All presentations and team meetings and has no feel for a football club or football people. Modern management consultant with qualifications on paper.
Anyone else heard similar?

Burt

Never met the dude, never seen him "in action", never heard anything first hand about him from anyone else... All I hear is people in the same situation as me putting 2+2 together and possibly not arriving at 4.

I am a great believer in first hand, observable, evidence before I arrive at a conclusion.

I have heard similar comments from inside the club.

Also mirrors comments made by staff from his time at QPR.

I believe the people I heard this from.

I have known them for decades and they have worked at Fulham for a while (before Rigg arrived).

Everyone I speak to in and around football says the same thing.

I think his appointment was the biggest f**k up of Khan's tenure to date.

hopefully Jokanovic will win the battle against Rigg

nose

I have heard rumours and drawn my own conclusions from what he says and what he achieved (or not) elsewhere
I also observe what has happened at fulham since his arrival
He might be alright but my sense is we would be better getting rid of him and the CEO today before they are allowed to do any more damage. Just my opinion based on observation.

Perhaps in the defence of the CEO and Mr Rigg , and in the interest of being fair, they could come out and say what they have done so well for us. It seems to me a fairly short list.... but perhaps they have a master plan that is about to come good, maybe they could do another three way video, i love those.

Well if you're going to be sensible there's no point in continuing this thread!

Seriously, I fully agree with you.
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

I'm not really sure what Rigg does?

I seem to recall his role included being a link between all the age group teams, the support teams through to the first team but does that mean he sets the agenda and has the final say on everything short of team selection?

I also thought his big thing was talent recruitment?

Well Huw Jennings and his staff has done pretty well up to now at youth level and at Senior level I can't say i'm impressed with Riggs work so far!

Seems like he's a glorified administrator but with too much power and not enough quality input.

I thought one of his duties was to find the right head coach for us, am I right or wrong?

That would be part of his recruitment role I assume but important though it is, its not something to take up all his time during the season surely ?

Oh! hang on mo !

Met him once....that was enough for me, he talked in riddle's and a bit arrogant

I think that if you remove responsibility from everyone around you as Rigg has done, i.e. making himself responsible for transfers and deciding to appoint a 'Head Coach', then you and only you are responsible if it all goes wrong.
It's gone badly wrong and he must accept responsibility for this as he didn't seem to allow anyone else to have their say.
In most businesses a resignation would be expected. I think that would be about right.

He was the saviour appointed to get us out of the Magath debacle but has proven to be just as bad.

Sorry, Rigg but you've had much more to work with than most Championship clubs. Time to go.

Rigg didn't "make himself responsible for transfers and deciding to appoint a 'Head Coach'".

RIgg was appointed Director of Football and that is what DoFs do.

Simple answer: nobody on this message board knows. He could be taped to a chair in Motspur Park with Ms Brookes giving him the once over with a cactus frond and we'd be none the wiser, so why think we can speculate on what he's actually doing for/at the club?
"We won't look back on this season with regret, but with pride. Because we won what many teams fail to win in a lifetime – an unprecedented degree of respect and support that saw British football fans unite and cheer on Fulham with heart." Mohammed Al Fayed, May 2010

He gets paid to do so by Shahid Khan who is an American idiot and a con artist we believe in them 100%.

Don't ask these kinds of questions until League one please. It's disturbing.

MJG

Have meet him half dozen times,  either at MP,  at the club and a couple of away games.
Always found him to be very easy to talk to and open to discuss what's been going on. Of course i don't work with him so can't comment on that side of things.  Personally have not heard anything bad from club staff and only read it on here or on other boards.

No one needs to speculate, conjecture, insinuate or make up bollocks.

Rigg has a well recognised job title, has spoken about his role and it is outlined in the official web site: http://www.fulhamfc.com/the-teams/staff/mike-rigg.
