lol, so are you saying bamford is the best player we can get in the whole wide world. And I'd imagine kalas will be a bench boy soon. Unless ragnar turns out to be a flop. Loans have there uses. But not to fill a position that you have made best part of 20 million pound on in the last calendar year.

But not to fill a position that you have made best part of 20 million pound on in the last calendar year.

Original quote was "stuff loans" and you always seem to be negative about them. Bamford won championship player of the season 14/15 season. Has had 1 bad (didnt really play so dont know if you can call it bad) year in the premier league. He is great at this level.

and thats another thing. if a player who hasnt had a decent pre season takes ages to get up to speed, then how long does it take a player who hasnt had a decent pre season, or played much in a whole year? we need a striker now. not one who may be ready within the month. and yes stuff loans. we have spent too many years thinking short term and we nearly ended up in the third division. slavisa is building a good young squad who can go from strength to strength in the next couple of years, and i want us to have to just  fine tune in windows, not rebuild your first 11 every year

Hi Ben, not attempting to disrupt the banter...
But I, and possibly others, look at this thread every few mins to hope for rumours/ news, but I find we have a rumour followed by many posts of people's opinions why rumoured player is either too good for us, too expensive, crap, hasn't scored in the last 5 mins, has a bad attitude (just like Ross! Hee, hee) etc
I don't think there's anything wrong with that as that's what this board is for, just wish they were separated that's all - then we can choose

I'm well excited with what Slavisa is doing and feel really positive. Whoever he brings in is fine with me. I feel some comments should be separated and then we can choose to read or not read. I feel for some players as they are completely slagged off and all they need is support.

Anyway, I'm doing exactly what I said shouldn't happen in this thread - sorry!

I posted about this yesterday and said I assumed we'd have to do the medical all over again. But now I've thought about it I'm going to completely contradict myself and say it's not really much different to signing a player and then loaning him back to the selling club for a short while, like we were hoping spurs would do with dembele in january. Albeit in this case we've only loaned him back for one game (well, 16 minutes it seems)

yes id imagine the main part of the medical is to pick up on really dodgy stuff through scans and xrays, the type of thing that wont really get effected by one game unless something obvious happens during that game like a big impact injury

But now I've thought about it I'm going to completely contradict myself and say it's not really much different to signing a player and then loaning him back to the selling club for a short while, like we were hoping spurs would do with dembele in january. Albeit in this case we've only loaned him back for one game (well, 16 minutes it seems)

The reason/rumour I heard why he returned to Belgium was because when he arrived we tried to change terms of what was agreed with him personally & his current club...

They got peed off & called him back apparently.
