Fulham winger gets five managers in 12 months - but glad only to get rid of one

Whites about to lose player number eight - not counting loans - as boss Slavisa Jokanovic rings the changes ahead of Championship 2016/17

Ben Pringle is about to get his fourth club in a year after it didn't work out for him at Fulham.

The Geordie winger signed from Rotherham last summer is on the move again to Preston after just 18 appearances in white with his best Fulham moment in the 4-0 thrashing of QPR last September.

Ironically, his last game at Craven Cottage was against the Millers in December two days after Slavisa Jokanovic's appointment as head coach, before being loaned out to Ipswich where he got 10 more games under Mick McCarthy.

So counting Steve Evans at Rotherham, Kit Symons and Jokanovic at Fulham, McCarthy and now North End's Simon Grayson, Pringle has had his fair share of gaffers in the last year.

'In your face': then Rotherham manager Steve Evans at Craven Cottage
But it was Evans, who tried to shift him on to Millwall in January 2015, that stuck in the 27-year-old's craw.

In an earlier GetWestLondon exclusive he revealed: "Steve Evans was in your face shouting and swearing and all the rest of it. "If you don't get it done; you don't play kind of thing.

"Back in January 2015, they'd (Rotherham) accepted a bid by Millwall and he was telling me to go, which was a bit strange as they were rock-bottom and he was trying to sell me Millwall as an exciting proposition."

Preston to complete signings six and seven today

Preston North End are set to complete the signings of two new players according to the Lancashire Evening Post. Ex-Fulham midfielder Ben Pringle and former loan player Callum Robinson are to sign on at Deepdale.

Pringle and Robinson joining will mean Preston taking their summer transfer spree up to seven. Now Robinson is signing, it means that three of the five players that ended last season on loan at the club will have made the move permanent.

Starting with Pringle, the paperwork is set to be completed later today. Talks took place between the associated parties last Thursday. He has struggled to make his way into the Fulham team on a permanent basis. He ended last season away on loan at Ipswich Town. It was his time at Rotherham United which saw him take centre stage. In over 140 appearances, he scored 22 goals, helping them achieve promotion into the Championship.

Robinson has had three separate loan spells at Deepdale. He played a part in their promotion winning team from League One. Last season he made 15 more appearances on his latest loan move away from Aston Villa. He also had a brief stint at Bristol City at the start of last season. The attacker clearly is at his most comfortable in the surroundings at Preston. Compensation has been agreed to take the player from Villa.
