But on the 10th September I am going to surpass anything I've ever done.

1/.  I am petrified of snakes
2/.  I am an atheist
3/.  Appalachian Hillbillies
4/.  A Professor of religious rituals and mysticism in the University of Chattanooga
5/.  After months of 'negotiation' I have been 'accepted' and invited to one of these 'events'
6/.  It's 6 hours south west of where I live
7/.  Very few people would have the bottle (or stupidity) to do this
8/.  Speaking in Tongues
9/.  I'll be sleeping in a tent for 3 nights
10/.  There's a few English people living near there
11/.  My wife is worrying that I don't have enough life insurance
12/.  It will start about 12 hours after the Birmingham game finishes

Why do you feel the need ?

It's not a question of 'need' it's just a fascination to find out and experience what makes people belong to
such a religious ritual church and effectively follow one verse in the bible.
Some may be disappointed  :0)  but you can be certain I will be at the back of the church, nowhere
near the snakes and the pastor knows I'm an atheist and am only an onlooker.
Many of these 'hillbillies' are descendants of Irish people who fled to the Appalachians to make moonshine
(which I won't be drinking)  during prohibition.
Watch the movie "Songcatcher" to hear the roots of the music.
I'm also going 'up in the hills' to a bluegrass 'gathering'
As long as I respect their wishes (no flip flops, shorts and a long sleeve shirt) I'll be fine.
They are also used to having 'visitors' such as TV companies, movie makers, reporters all of whom
have come out alive, as far as I know :0)
