The Swan

Just before 8am this morning on Radio 5 Live Huw was on the radio talking about Fulhams Academy.
I am sorry to say that I missed most of it. Did anyone hear the interview.

The jist was salaries for academy players and how some on circa 40k can be easily distracted and lose their way. By contrast it appears Sess is on 135 quid a week and he has actually featured in the first team. Klopp is putting a salary cap on the Liverpool Academy, the original cause of the debate, but even then it will be a massive salary for a kid. As one of our more astute signings he, Jennings, came across very well and talked briefly about getting the set up right and nurturing the talent. With their goal of the month success again and the positivity that there seems to be around the juniors and Academy I am liking them more and more. It is a sad scenario that the current mess around the first team could be their undoing and not high wages.
