Firstly it has to be said and has been said numerous times by me - Kelly is useless - Can't fault his effort but he makes the whole team end up being on edge - he's constantly found out of position which means that hughes drifts out to RB and leaves Hangeland on his own in the middle. Not to mention that he doesn't really track back properly - seeing how much more relaxed Hangeland looked when he had shorey on his side in comparison to Hughes highlighted this even more - watch the highlights and focus on Kelly.

Secondly - what's up with Bobby?... In the last couple of home matches he's left the warm up early and just run towards the tunnel whilst keeping his head down and doesn't aknowledge the clapping fans - this time he got injured? - anyway he was walking around the ground towards the tunnel and did the same - walking but not aknowledgeing the crowd - he did seem to have a stiff right arm - is he still feeling it and playing through the pain? If so - why aren't we aware of it?

And now on to the match itself.

Shorey looked really good - I mean really good - had two good feet, a really solid understanding with Hangeland and looks like a real steal who will definately be pushing Konchesky for the LB spot which is great news. Didn't seem to put a foot wrong all night and had a good eye for a pass and tracked back but also got forward in attack. I get the feeling he may be a more reliable option!?


Murphy didn't have his best game and I didn't think we were going to get anything from it until hodgson changed his tactics bringing on dikcagoi for kelly and putting baird at RB and giving DC a role in CM - he's energetic - hasn't played many games and could help us push on this half of the season as he isn't tired.

Other that that it's great to have a win under our belt and hopefully we can push on against Bolton this weekend and then against Burnley next tuesday!

Never thought I'd be saying I was happy to see Baird head to right back! Kelly has 0 confidence, he couldn't even kick the ball out of play successfully tonight. Great start by the 2 new boys. Duff our best player and only creative outlet. Thought O'Hara and Boetang played well 4 Pompey. All in all happy to be in the winners books again as we scratchede out a result. Let's build on this Sat.
