An other penalty miss ( or saved)

That's Cairney saved against QPR, Aluko miss against QPR.
I know Martin scored against Huddersfield but he had one saved tonight.
We do need to find another McCormack or another Murphy.

Tonights save did not effect the result but the two against QPR cost us at least one if not two points.

Solution is to nominate a penalty taker and stick with that person even if they miss three in a row. Build up the confidence and make them practice after training every day until they can blast into top right hand corner with eyes shut. No more swapping and changing.

If they miss three in a row, then penalties probably ain't their thing

I was in the hammy off to one side from the goal a bit but he didn't look confident at all. Kept looking at the keeper rather than picking a spot and looking at the ball.

Hah maybe two max... just don't want to see a different person taking them every week

Funny how you get a hunch with these things. Screwed my face with anticipation of a miss when it was awarded, much like the stoppage time one with QPR.

Johansen looks the most cocksure player at the moment and may be the answer.

A lot of top players miss penalties, I don't know what it is - but Barcelona seem to miss them regularly, but you'd bet on Chelsea or Bayern scoring most of the time.

Johansen's a good shout, all of his finishes so far seem quite nonchalant/calm. Problem is is if a player just isn't confident with penalties then you can't force them

Murphy? The same Murphy that missed two of our biggest penalties ever

We need another Heidar, best penalty taker I've ever seen at Fulham.

Murphy was a very consistent taker for us, scored one against united if memory serves correct?

Pardon my memory but what were the two misses? Remember the Basel one...

Kevin Locke was the best Fulham penalty taker other than Ross. Never seemed to be nervous and always put them away.

But to miss three this season is a disgrace.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

I remember Murphy missing one at Man City but then netting the rebound in that 2-3 game from the 'Great Escape' season.
Right in front of Fulham fans.  Real heart-in-mouth moment. made it 2-2.

Heidar has to go above Ross no? Scored every single one i think putting the keeper the wrong way every time

Yeah possibly, just was always confident with Ross.

I agree with Lighthouse. Kevin Locke is the best penalty taker I have ever seen in a Fulham Shirt.
But has the art of taking one become more difficult as the keeper can now move along his line

Sgt Fulham

Are people forgetting Berbatov? The keeper always knew he was defeated before he took them, such was his confidence and class.

There is no "another Murphy" in the cards for us -- ever. I can't believe we got him in the first place.

Kevin Locke was a great player.  Consistent and solid in a series of not very good sides, the penalty expertise was a bonus.

How much would it cost to invite Matt Le Tissier down to Motspur Park for a day for a specialist session on penalty taking ?
He truly is one of the greatest penalty takers of all time, choose 3 designated penalty takers, let them spend the day with Matt, if he can't improve them nobody will,

Now all we need to do is find somebody to come down the training ground to teach them how to beat the first man at a corner !
