In last Saturday's programme they spotlighted two games that I was at.  One was the 1962 cup final semi at Villa Park v Burnley. They say that Maurice Cook missed a chance near the end. No he did not. He was clean through and was flattened by Adam Backlaw in their goal. It was the most blatant penalty I have ever seen, the ref apologised after for not giving it. It still haunts me, Mo played his best ever game for us that long gone day.
The other one was us at Spurs in 1967 when Fred Callaghan and Venables were sent off. We played in blue that day, can you believe that?! The photo includes Tony Macedo Stan Brown, Steve Earle and in the distance Jimmy Conway or Les Barrett....we played well that day and got nowt...bring on Sunday!!!
Anyone else there for both these games?
