A towering, highly influential figure I popular music - influenced the Stones, Beatles, many others. But maybe  never got the wider  recognition he deserves.

What a talent. Some of his classics he wrote in about 20 minutes but they will live forever. Thanks Chuck. RIP

So pleased i saw him perform at the Capital Jazz Festival in the eighties.

RIP Chuck, a true legend

Last year, he announced he would be releasing his first album in nearly four decades. He dedicated it to his wife of 68 years, Themetta "Toddy".
The album, titled Chuck, was recorded in St Louis, Missouri. It will be released later this year, though a date has not been set.
