EFL teams must name 'club-developed' player on matchdays from 2018-19

The BBC is reporting that EFL clubs will have to have a player who spent 1 year before the U19 season in the match day squad for all games.  Not certain that this will be automatically better. If this had been implemented we probably would not have put Woodrow or Christensen out on loan, thereby gaining first team experience.

At the moment only Sessegnon makes the squad regularly. We might end up with de la Torre being sat on the bench on a weekly basis.

good idea, they should make the entire subs bench in the prem home grown players, or at least players that have been developed in the UK and been at their clubbs for at least four seasons! That would level things up a bit.

Seems like a reasonable idea, although rather a small step.

Shouldn't think it would make much difference to us. Apart from the aforementioned Sessegnon, Bettinelli has been a regular all season and all the other goalkeepers are club-produced.

Edun, Adeniran and de la Torre have all featured as well as the three loaned players.
