What makes me laugh about this forum is,you can lay things out in black n white and prove your case over and over again, there was a case a couple of weeks ago when someone (I want mention) who proved his point over and over, but still the 6 or so arguementive lot still said he was in the wrong...I'm all for debate and we all have our own ideas, but I can name 4 on here who just like to say black is white for the sake of it...Hilarious

That's one of life's great ironies.. the world around us is defined by the extremes and those who have the strongest opinions... despite most opinions being wrong / subjective or Ill informed.

I'll go along with that.

Although my info is it's all agreed, I always prefer the announcement as anyone can change their minds

Precisely, J A Riise being a case in point.

Cas anyone honestly say they've watched Rolan play a full match before? Like I mean watching highlight clips on YouTube is fine and whatnot but highlights are supposed to show a player's qualities, not their vulnerabilities. What if Rolan simply fails to adapt to Championship football? We can't really rely on Woodrow to do the job, right?
Regardless, I trust Slavisa's judgement, hopefully he goes down well

I've probably watched him 10-15 times from Ligue 1 being on BT + Europa League games. I'd be surprised if he didn't get 15+ goals for us assuming he stays fit. Especially with the number of chances we create. He can have cold spells, but when he's on his game he'll be the best Striker in the league in my opinion.

He's talented enough to make the national team with arguably the greatest strikeforce on the planet. Talent isn't an issue...it's, can he acclimate? Jozabed was talented, but he couldn't acclimate.

Not sure I know what you mean - adjust to the climate (acclimatise) or the style of football?

I think it's easier for a striker, especially someone with pace. I think he'd suit our team.. if it happens

Jozabed also barely played because we had Cairney in his role, who's to say he wouldn't have if given proper game time? Rolan will start 99% of games he's available for unless we turn around tomorrow and sign a ridiculous Striker.

Style of football, travel, London, family, climate, pitch conditions, longer season, ect. If you're mind isn't right off the pitch, you won't be your best on it.

sometimes it's not about your ability, but adjusting to a different lifestyle or way of life. Look at his instagram stories and snapchats, he's loving the partylife, out socialising and all, he's young, he's vibrant, if he signs , he needs to get in with the Cairney Woodrow/ Cairney Smith bromance, that or Kebanos pretty lively and I'm sure Floyd, neeskens etc can speak French or whatever other mutual language while he learns English if he doesn't speak it

Alternatively there's plenty of South Americans in West London, acclimatising nicely and London is a place full of many different cultures expressed in many different ways. Even over at Chelsea, its full of South Americans.

I think people will look to Jozabed for failure to acclimatise but he is 26 and never played football outside his home country. I'm sure many people would experience a bit of a culture shock, especially him trying to dictate play in a way he's never played before. Jozabed was in and out of the team, started without a pre season with us, whereas I'm sure a striker like Diego will revel in the confidence of being first choice regular adding to our expectations... we will love him if he scores 30 next season, but if he scores 5 then he hasn't got a lot to live up to with replacing Cyriac/ Martin. We appreciate a bit of effort but expectations aren't sky high

Obviously there are pitfalls and risks involved but hopefully it's a risk they and the club can take and overcome

He can speak Spanish with Slavisa and Djalo and I'd assume he's pretty good at French when he's been at Bordeaux for over 4 Years.

Seen on him on TV via BT and her looks lively, if we play as we did last season and he does then I back him for between 15-20. but if he or we don't play like that then it will be less

As I said previously I think he will come we are just flapping about until we get the kit sorted as we will do it as a big thing, him signing and a new kit and sponsor.

Lots of Spanish speaking people here and no reason they shouldn't make it in the UK. It's always a risk with overseas players but this guy is already playing In a foreign country.

Proof is in the goals, how many had heard of Louis Saha before we signed him.
