Not against spending caps. Surely with our incoming sand outgoings we have a spending cap. Wolves don't seem to. Manchester clubs can sell tea mugs in china and that allows them to spend 100 mil on a player. It's a properly broken system.

I think that is a wrap for tonight as all is quiet on the rumour front. Shame I think had we had gone in sooner Gayle would be here

Completely agree but there is too much money involved that dictates it. A change would have to be revolutionary and I can't see the governing bodies making such a big change unfortunately as they are making more money!

I don't think he would have been, Newcastle were leaving it late for a replacement as they wanted a good deal, they didn't get one, perez went to Spain and they had no other options.

But I think had they have known 5he was going then maybe they would have made more of an effort. Shame that they couldn't take a naff panic loan like we would do

he was on record as saying he didn't want to leave, unless they wanted to sell. They didn't want to unless they got a replacement so I do not think it would have mattered. Remember this is Mike Ashley so he was looking for the right deal at the right price, and that price was less than Deportivo are paying to loan Perez for a season

Yeah it's not going to happen. We could never have a global following without a revolution. This system doesn't allow clubs to create a global following as you cannot compete financially with those that already do. I think this is how the powers that be want it. They don't want Manchester and Chelscum relegated so they are happy to let one player cost more than a squad.

Be nice if the club could come out and say if business is done or not. We are all sitting here in hope and they could end our suffering with a sentence

Apparently Forestieri is going to Watford

It says this on a few twitter accounts - loan deal

David I

Foresteri should have been quite straight forward to get over the line as he wont be playing for Wednesday anytime soon and Funded by Aluko sale. never mind

they wanted north of 15 million, apparently 18 million, not entirely funded by the Aluko sale. Ask anyone in football, no deal is ever straight forward

But on the flip side, ( I'm not saying it's right, it's just an alternative view) Say United put money, effort and resources into building their brand. They spend on their resources through marketing, advertising, promoting, even stretching as far as using pre season tours to expose the brand to new markets.

Through all of this they get new fans, new sponsorship deals, new partnerships which contribute to their wealth and bank accounts. We can't match them within the grounds as Craven Cottage is naturally restricted, but there are so many markets left to exploit, especially as a unique standpoint of Londons original etc. Are we doing enough to attract tourists? Are we doing enough to tap into new markets? Has our American owners/ sponsorships meant we've tapped into that market to attract and maintain a sizeable fanbase?
Yes it's not the premier league but the championship is available throughout the world and there's so many revenue streams we aren't maximising.

So before saying it's unfair that the rich get richer, and spend whatever they want , are we doing everything to maximise our own sales, our own gate receipts?

I agree there should be some kind of levelling exercise whether it's caps, or limits but we need to get our house in order first. From experience , there are markets in Asia and America who go wild for a bit of football and marketing combined

18mil for forrestari, 20mil for Gayle - I was never expecting fulham to fork out at these prices

Very underwhelmed. It's not been a bad window I don't think but it's not been good. We will be amongst 12 teams fighting for 3-6 imo.
