They want 13 million, should think we've gone in about 7 million...At least showing our intent.

Just pay the damn 13 million. His goals will be worth it. If it means we have to sell McDonald, so be it. We can replace McDonald him. Mounie would lead the league in goals with the service he'd get. If we're going up, this season is it.

We're wasting everyone's time with this bid. Not even close to what they want. At least make it double figures. Maybe just offer what they want. I forget we have a billionaire owner sometimes.

Even if we forget that we have a billionaire owner, we should still remember that little thing called FFP. Not sure what our budget for this year is, but I would be surprised if we could spend that much money just on one player.

@jolslover

The French side had been looking for a figure of around £13million for their 15 goal striker, but Fulham have submitted a bid lower than that and are using their location in London to tempt Mounie.

Fair enough. Get this done for say 10mill and I think would be good business. Dont know much about Mounie but 14 goals in ligue 1 is very impressive. A striker should be our priority!

Even if we get a bid accepted for Mounié, a Premier League club will just step in and match it. Can't see a scenario where he ends up here. We had our chance last season to pay over the odds for a relatively unknown striker, that Montpellier had high hopes for, but chose not to.

We had a bid accepted in principle by Montpellier last season, it was the player who didnt want to come

Really? All I read was that we didn't match Montpellier's ~€7m asking price.

neither true, we had a bid accepted, then Montpellier changed how they wanted the payment made and we didn't agree.

Steve Mounie was directly quoted in the French media saying fee agreed between clubs & Montpellier left it to him. Said he was excited about the prospect of Fulham but felt he owed it to the club & fans  to have another season

Fulham target set to leave Spain and secure a move to the Eredivisie with FC Groningen

Fulham look set to miss out on Osasuna striker Kenan Kodro who is reportedly on the verge of joining FC Groningen.

The Bosnian striker was on the radar of Fulham, Bolton and Bristol City but he looks set to move to Holland and the Eredivisie instead in a deal worth €750k, according to Spanish newspaper Dario de Navarra.

The 23-year-old only has a year left on his current deal at Osasuna after being relegated, although he scored seven goals in 30 games in La Liga last season.

The Daily Mail had reported he would be available for £1.5million, although it looks like he will be heading to Holland for much less than that as Osasuna look to cash in on the striker.

Fulham are still on the hunt for a striker, while it looks like there will be a two-way battle between Celta Vigo and Real Betis for Jozabed this summer.

Yep your right he did say that, but he could hardly say I only stayed because the club changed how the fee was going to be paid.

We agreed the 7 .5 million euros, we agreed to pay half up front, some over 12/18 months and some based on incentives, 10 days or so later after everything agreed, Montpellier apparently changed it to wanting 75% upfront, we would not do that. The Montpellier chairman came out and said we would not pay the amount they wanted upfront.

The reason they changed it was the player they wanted to replace Mounie needed a higher fee and they wanted us to pay more up front.

Doesn't matter now though we didn't get him and think he is more likely to move elsewhere than the championship after having a decent season in France

You'd really advocate getting rid of arguably our most influential player, having no CDM seeing as parker is gone/going, and blow the whole budget on one player when we need at least 5 players in this window, 6 if we get rid of Kmac? Bonkers. He's a decent player but we don't need to be spending £13m on one striker irrespective of how badly we need one, especially seeing as we need two.

Mounie Won't happen. Is anyone else concerned about the lack of players we've been linked with this window? Literally no rumours have gone on for more than a couple of days

westcliff white

not concerned at all, its still relatively early, and we are fairly good at keeping things quiet on the transfer front.

Not worried at all, this a typical Fulham transfer window where nothing happens until the last moment and we get somebody we have never heard of!! Plenty of time to do some good business!!

This is the problem. Players don't have time to gel. We don't want to be playing catch up again.
