Happy with Norwood. We've got a great centre of midfield.

We've gone from Parker and Petsos to Norwood and Cisse as back ups for the Midfield three, so safe to say in that respect we're better off than we were last season. A Striker and a Centre-Back (Kalas) before Norwich and things will suddenly look very good.

We need a couple defenders and a striker and winger, that is a minimum requirement if the club are serious about promotion.
The current defensive unit as it stands is woefully fragile and liable to concede a goal at any time. A clean sheet is wishful thinking.

Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas is set to rejoin Fulham on loan, sources close to both clubs have told ESPN FC.

Kalas is currently away with Chelsea on their preseason tour of Asia, but the defender is expected to go out on loan when they return to England next week.

A number of clubs, including Hull City have enquired about signing Kalas, but Fulham are confident of bringing the Czech Republic defender back to Craven Cottage.

Kalas spent last season on loan at Fulham and was a mainstay in Slavisa Jokanovic's side as they reached the Championship playoffs only to lose to Reading.

Fulham have been keen on re-signing Kalas and they have remained in talks about a possible season-long loan deal since the end of last season.

The 24-year-old has also been open about returning to Fulham and a deal is expected to be sealed as early as next week.

Kalas signed for Chelsea in 2010 but has been sent away on five separate loan deals, and has played just two games for the Blues, and it seems he will again spend next season away from Stamford Bridge.

do you know something we don't? Are we changing formation this season to accomedate orthodox wingers that we don't have?

IMO the minimum to compete from now is Kalas, A left back and 2 strikers. Anything else is a bonus but that is what we need (IMO) to challenge the top 6.

personally think we can cope with sess and odious as lb until at least January.

You have to remember the CB pairing was brand new last year. If we get Kalas back I think our CB pairing will be a lot stronger after a year playing together

yes big if though, we want him, he wants to come and still Chelsea stall. I'd be more than happy with a kalas Ream partnership, but happy isn't what Fulham always delivers

Kalas and a starting ST would be the minimum expectation for me.

Great shame TC's injured but keeping all of our players, bar Malone is a great achievement (touch wood)

I have been reading this bloody thread hoping for news, but in the main just reading moans.
Now, I don't normally associate you wth negativity for no reason, but for some reason you seem to anti everything that's suggested at the mo!
I'm completely happy with things as I totally believe we have a great manager and will be back up there, or thereabouts again!

ANO striker & a LB by 31 August.  Although I'd settle for Woodrow as the bench backup striker (I believe he scored more than Cyraic & Martin post January) and Odoi/Sess at LB until January

Obviously he scored more than Cyriac, the lad got about 3 minutes of game time. Swap them round and I'm convinced Cyriac would have scored more. I don't really rate Woodrow. But he will do as back up for the first 3/4 games while we bring in someone before deadline day.
But I agree we need Kalas and a Striker before Norwich.

Woodrow isn't good enough for a team chasing promotion. Especially how we play. I really don't understand the love fest with him. Academy or not
