Yes, liked Carlos. But better in the other box than our own I always thought.

Bit of a cult figure but not sure we would have him down as one of the better players of that era.

but by all of these counters, the rest of the world dont buy english players. does that make them not good enough for those respective leagues?
my original post was that id be excited to see us sign him and would back him to beat Chris Martins total. stand by that. obviously there are better option out there but it comes down to whether we pay the fee, whether the player wants to drop to our league (rolan here) and time getting short for them to be here before Norwich. Larin ticks all the boxes for me on ability, fee, and would he come.

i'll be honest, im just happy to be linked with anyone as it gives us all something to talk about :)
Partly English players aren't good enough to get moves to the biggest clubs in the world.

Welsh ok, though.
Yes one Welsh player. Who happens to be one of the best in the world.

That's just like you get the occasional world class player from random low-ranked countries. Like Hagi, or Puskas or George Weah.

Yea but never from England

From TIFF: Approaches have been made for Aboubakar Kamara (10 goals last season for Amiens, we almost signed him in january) and Cyle Larin (39 goals in 77 games for Orlando City in MLS).
spoken to someone and there could be some legs in this, however it is at a very early stage. It was almost done in January however they could not get a replacement bought in time (they were going for promotion), before anyone says typical FFC leaving it late, this was mid-January and dragged on because they were looking. We agreed to re visit during the summer, however between then and July there was an indication from the club they did not want to do a deal, as they have been promoted. This stance appears to have changed recently and we have now made tentative enquiries

Your point is a good one. But Puskas is really not a great example. When he was playing for Hungary they were generally recognized as the best side in the World and are good contenders for the best of all time with the likes of Kocsis, Czibor, Hidegkuti, Bozsik and the goalkeeper Grosics being considered on a par with Puskas. Admittedly they have never since reached such heights.

To be fair, at the time Hungary were one of the best teams in the world.

Fair enough, you're right. So long before my day that I just see Hungary and forget they were once one of the best.

Replace Puskas with Best then, and we have a hat-trick of Georges.

5ft 10, quick, a striker not a winger/striker. Scored 15 goals in 45 last season think that was with 38 starts.

Amiens signed him in the summer of 2016 from a Belgian side Kortrijk, however he was at monaco befoire that. PLayed for their b team scoring around 14 goals i think in 20 odd games.

He is an out an out striker, having said all of htis, I am surprised (as I was in January) that Amiens owuld let him go, he wa splaying well for them and had only been there 6 months and now a year.

Patience on this as it is at a very early stage and no fee or anything has been discussed.

He could also be one of two forwards that come in so may not nescarsarily be the main man so to speak

What happened about the "firming up" of our back up options when the Rolan deal collapsed? If that did happen, why are now looking at this striker and starting at square one? Or is that what you meant by it being a possible second striker?

Lighthouse

I was rather hoping when the last forward deal fell through that we would be further along in our dealings with other strikers. But it appears there is still faffing about. Frustration talking but this hardly looks great.

As far as I know we furthered our options, some of those may not have been entertained, some may still be going on, but they are not in the markets I have a contact in. My understanding was we are looking for 2 Centre Forwards, hence my comment he could be one of two.

I owuld also say if you read my comments we didnt go back in for Kamara till recently

As far as I am aware we did further our options but as I said in my post above I Do not have a contact in those markets.

Not saying you were asking me anything or refering to any of my other posts, just thought I would give a comment

Leeds have put a bid in for Flint of Bristol city. If take him here as part of a cb pairing

Flint won't be going to sit on the bench.  Suggests to me that Kyle Bartley won't be returning to Leeds this year.  Currently at Swansea he would be a terrific signing for a Championship team.  Another flight of fanciful logic would suggest that Jansson and Flint are far too similar to play in the same team, so we might as well put in a bid for him.

For all the excitement of TC's equaliser last season against 10 men, Leeds centre back pairing were stellar that night.  Further forward they had some glaring problems.

@jolslover

Wells only got a year left on Huddersfield contract, they have signed new strikers. Would be class signing.

They were decent pretty much all season to be fair. No heroics just good old fashioned defending. Clearing their lines and allowing the players infront to do their jobs.

I'd take Barkely but I don't think he will be coming back down again.
