If he does sign, at that price, it'll be the end of AK47 as a starter, can't see Slav changing to two up front. 9mil euros is what? £8.1mil

With Fonte, Kamara and Woodrow all in the squad we actually have good depth up front.

NOW SIGN A CB.

Woodrow; why do you think this guy can help? He was just as helpful as Martin was last season. he could of been a talent but no longer is. Woodrows standard of football is below Fulham. Tier 2 would be a good fit untill he scores at least 10

Nigeria international Ogenyi Onazi has been denied a work permit to play for English Championship side Birmingham City.

Birmingham had agreed terms with the 24-year-old to sign him from Turkish club Trabzonspor.

However the Football Association turned down a first application for a work permit for Onazi last week.

An appeal made by the club was rejected on Wednesday despite Onazi being a regular in the Nigeria national team.

BBC Sport understands that the player and his representatives are bitterly disappointed that the panel rejected an appeal.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Time for Arry to go back for Niko Kranjcar then

Bettinelli in talks over a new contract so rumour has it.

All a bit late in the day for players to start wanting new contracts I would have thought.

Why?

They seem to offer extended contracts at any time - more so if the player is wanted by others
It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

Can't help but think that this means that Aluko is off. Ojo looks exciting though, got blistering pace.

You may well be right, which would be a shame if Aluko did go.

A shame yes but he is shocking in front of goal and if we got near 6 mil that's good business for a freebie.

He offers more than just goals - work rate, dribbling ability, creativity. He's very consistent at everything but goals and he's not a striker anyway. I see him as our most consistent winger.
Would be foolhardy to sell.

How do you get to that conclusion? We were after Ojo way before the Aluko/Reading stuff came about, and especially now Piazon's injured for a significant time frame Ojo's pretty much his replacement.

As you say the Ojo deal was on the cards before Piazon got injured, so it would have nothing to do with it. And we have no idea for how long Aluko has asked for a new deal, my guess would be along with Malone and co after last season.

I just can't see Ojo, Aluko, Ayite, Piazon and Kebano all compete for two positions where also Sess and Kamara can fill in comfortably. Especially as Ojo/Liverpool must have been promised a decent amount of playing time, otherwise I don't think he would have joined us. Plus, Ojo's a left-footed winger so he seems like a logical replacement.

They're not competing for two positions but three as we sometimes use a false 9 up top. Also Piazon can play centre mid. Anyway squad depth is a good thing so we don't risk burnout. Squad rotation also helps to prevent complacency.

I agree with all of that but his end product isn't there for me.
Last night he often would cut back and I think alot of his tricks and skills he actually looks like he hasn't got a clue what he is doing.
I think when kabano came in he was more direct and more polished.

I was sat in the home end behind our dugout and Aluko was moaning like he'll about something, he thinks he is abit big time for my liking but every one is entitled to their own opinion

I very much doubt we will pay big money for both Fonte and Kamara and not use either of them.

I have to admit I've not been to any games this season, so was basing it on last season when I thought he was one of our best players. Disappointing if it's all gone to his head given that we rescued his career after being ditched by Hull.

I'm sure we'll use them but we can't expect them to instamtly hit the ground running, it's good to have alternatives if they're having an ineffective game. I don't rate Woodrow much.

Hope aluko not getting carried away because he can't finish that's why he's EFL standard, last year for me he was there alongside TC KM And Stefan,if nows he's getting attitude he should remember where he came from shot of confidence from hull!

Aluko is an interesting one.

If you judge him on the amount of times he beats defenders and creates a goalscoring chance, he's surely the best winger in this division.

However if you're comparing him to other wingers on that metric, then in fairness you have to deduct from Aluko's total the number of chances he creates for himself, because those chances are always going to be wasted with his dire finishing.

I'd like to see those stats. Does anyone have Craig Kline's number?

Hopefully with two good strikers he'll be able to use those chances created to get some assists.

We Are Premier League

If Aluko is going, it might be Fonte, Kamara and Ojo replacing Martin, Aluko, Pizon and Cyriac. Feels like an upgrade.

Oh that he was more like Les Barratt & Jimmy Conway as far as finishing by scoring!

For me, if Slavisa states we would be foolish to sell Sone, then that's good enough for me - NO SALE!
I think it's it's rather harsh to start having a dig at Sone after a great season!
What's all this stuff about he thinks he's better than he is, and getting above himself stuff?
Unless someone knows this for certain then it should be taken as gossip, surely?
I really can't see why asking for a pay rise is the same as getting bigheaded- don't we all expect a pay rise in our jobs each year?

I did state that was my point of view and its just what I and my Leeds friend said last night as there was alot of arm throwing and glaring from my seat 2 rows from the pitch

Regarding Piazon - he has a broken fibula. The fibula is the non-weight bearing bone in the lower leg. Injury times for fibula vs. tibia (weight bearing bone in lower leg) or even femur (bone in upper leg) are much, much shorter. I believe about only 6-8 weeks for full recovery, so why are people saying he'd go back and loan could be terminated?

Cardiff bidding for Greg Cunningham would indicate that Bennett could be close.

I'd think it a shame for the "Aluko" getting above himself opinioms to become some sort of thing. His interviews he doesn't seem to come across like that type of guy. He's often teferred to as a guy who just loves playing football and plays.with a smile on his face. It's clear theres been some rumours around him being sold of late but lets not label him as someone with an attitude because of rumour based on little more than opinion. I've always seen him as a hard worker who always puts in a shift and regardless of his finishing ratio he's someone who can at any moment create something out of nothing. I have watched all the games this year and don't get the impression he's turned into some billy big bollocks type person. Doesn't seem his nature. Perhaps I'm wrong but lets not make that a thing without any real evidence.
