Wishful Thinking: Club Statement

Wouldnt it be great if on the first day of next season, after a few players are signed and the key ones retained, the club released a statement saying that all incoming and outgoing business was concluded? A settled squad is ideal for next season.

yes it would be, however its so hard to do, say a top championship player became available, for what ever reasons, in the last 2 days (unlikely I know), we would want us to go for them, so it could be fool hardy for any club to make that statement.

Well obviously I would want us to go for a top player should they become available, there are always exceptions, but I would be totally happy, if we did our business early, but it is Fulham after all.

no I get that as we all would want that. but if you made it and then signed someone it could be unsettling for the squad, and we have a good team spirit these days

I think to have a settled team before the start of the season really should be a target for our management.
However can't think how you can stop one of the big boys coming in late in the day with an attractive offer that will tempt a key player away.

Well, I think we have a squad that would want to try and give it one more year here. We almost made it and very well could have made the final if our lads had finished their chances over two legs. I bet we will see minimal outs this season and if we fail to get promoted, then they will go.
